Animals Available
The TSA has several high-profile animals available to TSA members who are interested in playing a part in key captive breeding programs. If you would like to participate by breeding one of these species, please send a brief letter of interest that outlines your qualifications, facilities and experience with this or related species to Dwight Lawson, dlawson@zooatlanta.org. One wild-caught adult female Mountain Tortoise, Manouria emys phayrei. This is a large (22") egg-laying, long term-captive animal available on breeding loan to an experienced TSA member. We would prefer that the recipient have a potential founder male of this species to pair with her.
1.1 wild-caught adult Flower Back Box Turtles, Cuora galbinifrons. These are long-term captive specimens recently donated to the TSA. The pair is available on breeding loan to a responsible TSA member, preferably with experience with the galbinifrons group.
1.1 captive born Arakan Forest Turtles, Heosemys depressa. These are unrelated animals. The female hatched in 2008, the male in 2009. The pair is available on breeding loan to current TSA members. The terms of the loan will be ¼ offspring to TSA, ¼ to recipient, ¼ to owner of sire, ¼ to owner of dam.
0.0.5 Mauremys annamensis. These are available as a loan transfer to TSA members from current holder.
