The 8th Annual Symposium on the Conservation and Biology of Tortoises and Freshwater Turtles will be held August 16-20, 2010 in Orlando, Florida. Thank you to everyone who responded to our online survey about the 2010 conference - you spoke and we listened!

TSA India Hosts Workshop
 TSA India - in Association with Madras Crocodile Bank Trust, Gharial Conservation Alliance and Kukrail Gharial & Turtle Centre (Uttar Pradesh Forest Department) - hosted a workshop this week on the safe handling, rescue and release of aquatic wildlife. The interactive workshop hosted fishermen from various regions with diverse skills, along with conservationists and biologists. Participants exchanged knowledge and skills regarding aquatic wildlife management, including rescue and release - an important component of many conservation programs. The workshop also aimed to prepare a rapid response team of fishermen to assist forest department and other agencies in various conservation projects in the future. Fly River Turtles Available
The TSA still have several eight to ten inch Fly River turtles (Carretochelys insculpta) available on breeding loan to TSA members who are interested in playing a part in key captive breeding programs.
