IHDA Accepting Applications for Participation in Foreclosure Mediation Program
|
The Illinois Housing Development Authority (IHDA) is accepting applications from HUD-Certified Housing Counseling Agencies, within Cook County, Illinois who are
interested in participating in
the Cook County Mortgage Foreclosure Mediation Program.
The Program is structured to bring free help from housing counselors and attorneys to homeowners facing foreclosure as soon as possible. With assistance provided prior to the first court hearing, homeowners will be able to make informed decisions and will proceed under a realistic set of expectations set out by the initial meetings with the housing counselors and attorneys.
Approximately seven to ten housing counseling agencies will be selected to supply a total of twenty counselors to the Program. Ten counselors will be housed at the Court's on-site space (Daley Center and Cook County Administrative Building) and the other ten will be based at their respective agency offices for follow up visits and other matters relating to the cases.
Information about the program, as well as the application, can be found at the Illinois Housing Development Authority Website.
Applications are due by 4:30pm on Friday, March 19th,
2010. If you have any questions, please contact Cami Freeman at cfreeman@ihda.org.
