D.C.'s college football bowl game got bigger and better! Expanding on its mission to support our men and women in armed services, Northrop Grumman, the USO, the DC Bowl Committee and the WCSA officially announced at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center that the EagleBank Bowl has been rebranded as the Military Bowl presented by Northrop Grumman.

 

Proceeds from the Military Bowl will benefit the USO, supporting the many great projects they activate annually. This year's game is set for December 29 at RFK Stadium (2:30 p.m. ET/ESPN) and is scheduled to feature the ACC vs. Conference USA.

You've heard the new name, now get your tickets to the game! Tickets for the 2010 Military Bowl presented by Northrop Grumman are available for $25, $55 and $90 and can be purchased via ticketmaster.com. The Metropolitan Cooking & Entertaining Show returns to D.C. with a celebrity lineup and plenty of fun for cooking and entertaining enthusiasts of all ages. Check out hundreds of exhibitors, cooking demonstrations, beer and wine tastings and more at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center November 13-14 from 10 a.m.- 7p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m.- 5 p.m. ET Sunday. Celebrity chefs Paula Deen, Bobby Flay and Rachel Ray grace the celebrity theater with exclusive presentations both days. The DC Rollergirls are cooking up a roller derby brawl at the DC Armory with a pre-Thanksgiving bout that's sure to satisfy your appetite for action. The Cherry Blossom Bombshells take on Scare Force One during the main bout on November 21. Tickets are $12 for ages 12 and up, $6 for kids ages 6-11, and FREE for children ages 5 and under. Doors open at 3 p.m. ET, the action begins at 4 p.m. ET.

Wizards season in full swing
at Verizon Center this month


The Washington Wizards open their 2010-11 season this month including eight home games at the Verizon Center. Rookie John Wall headlines a retooled Wizards lineup that welcomes the return of three-time All-Star Gilbert Arenas following a league-mandated suspension last year. The Wizards, playing under new majority ownership for the first time since 1964, look to return to winning ways and the playoffs for the first time since the 2007-08 season.

The Kennedy Center honors
former Saturday Night Live star and comedienne Tina Fey at the 13th annual Mark Twain Award for American Humor ceremony November 9 at 8 p.m. ET. The night features some of the biggest names in entertainment, including Jimmy Fallon, Steve Carrell, Jennifer Hudson, Steve Martin and Seth Meyers.
