Washington after playing with United since the team's inception in 1996. We sat down with Jaime to discuss his fondest memories at RFK Stadium, what he'll miss most and how he would like to be remembered.

We're rockin' the red at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center on October 2. The popular Capitals Convention, featuring a day-long interactive and informational celebration of the Capitals, moves downtown for the second edition of the annual event. Among the many highlights of the day is the unveiling of the 2011 Winter Classic jersey and appearances by the entire roster of current players and prominent alumni. Fans will also get autographs and photos with Caps players, participate in skills clinics and attend panel discussions with hockey notables.

Soccer season is winding down at RFK Stadium as D.C. United host home games against the San Jose Earthquakes (October 9) and Toronto FC (October 23). Against Toronto, United will say farewell to a legend as Jaime Moreno plays his last game at RFK Stadium as a member of D.C. United. The first 10,000 fans to arrive for the game will receive a commemorative Jaime Moreno poster courtesy of the WCSA. Fans will also be treated to a full slate of activities throughout the night celebrating Moreno's legendary career.

The Arena Stage
Reopens Its Doors

The Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theatre will officially reopen its doors on October 23 with a full-day of FREE events, including performances from Oklahoma!, Broadway and Tony Award-winning stars, conversations with prominent Arena Stage artists, presentations by local art groups and more. The extensive lineup of events take place throughout the entire building giving guests an opportunity to check out the historic, new and renovated stages of the building. Tickets for these free events will be available online starting October 8.

Washington International Horse Show Returns

Verizon Center 

 
The WCSA is once again a sponsor of the Washington International Horse Show, a highly regarded competition of top horses and riders from the U.S. and abroad vying for more than $415,000 in prize money and championship titles. Watch as nearly 500 horses participate in show jumping, hunters and equitation events and enjoy entertaining exhibitions, community events and specialty shopping over the course of six days. There are daytime and evening sessions Tuesday through Saturday and one daytime session on Sunday. Saddle up the whole family and check out the festivities.

The DC Rollergirls are back in action at the
DC Armory as the league opens its fifth season on October 2. Season 5 promises another year of fierce competition, hard-hitting skate action and enjoyable halftime acts when the first ladies of the track mix it up at the DC Armory each month. Two-time champion DC DemonCats begin defense of their back-to-back titles against the Cherry Blossom Bombshells in the opening bout. Tickets are $12 for ages 12 and up, $6 for children 6-11, and free for kids 5 and under.

Talk of the Town
October with the WCSA. Stay in step with the latest fitness & beauty trends. The Convention Center hosts the DC50 Health, Beauty and Fashion Expo (October 16) and the Marine Corp Marathon Health & Fitness Expo (October 29 & 30) while the Army Ten-Miler Race Expo invades the DC Armory October 22-23. The Davita 5K run hits the RFK Stadium Festival Grounds October 16 and the Howard University Step Show goes down at the DC Armory October 30.
 
Wizards Hoop It Up.
The Washington Wizards' training camp at George Mason's Patriot Center concludes October 3 with a FREE FanFest beginning at 11 a.m. Fans are invited to meet former players, practice their hoops skills and watch the team in an open scrimmage. "Indecision 2010"  Comedy Central is bringing the laughs and satire to D.C. as The Daily Show with Jon Stewart broadcasts a week of shows from the nation's capital as part of its "Indecision 2010" coverage of midterm elections. Taste of Georgetown. Georgetown's annual fall food festival returns October 9 from 11 a.m.- 4 p.m. and offers a sampling of dishes from 30 of Georgetown's most distinguished restaurants. March Madness on the National Mall. Jon Stewart isn't the only Comedy Central host causing a stir in the nation's capital this month. His late night rival Stephen Colbert will join Stewart in D.C. as they host dueling political rallies on the National Mall October 30. Both events are open to the public and are expected to be as entertaining as they are controversial.  
 
Ice Ice Baby. The Washington Capitals open their 2010-11 season against the Atlanta Thrashers October 8 before hosting their much anticipated home opener at the Verizon Center the following night versus the New Jersey Devils. Entourage guest star and comedian Bob Saget performs live at the Warner Theatre October 8 at 8 p.m...Get the scoop. Coming to the stage. The critically acclaimed Broadway musical HAIR premieres at the Kennedy Center this month and runs October 26-November 21. At Ford's Theatre, Sabrina Fair  premieres October 1 bringing a modern twist to the classic Cinderella story. Free Saturday performances at the National Theatre continue thru December featuring improv, comedy and cultural topics at 9:30 and 11:30 a.m. every weekend.
 
Kids Euro Festival. Europe comes to D.C. October 14-November 10 with an arts festival starring the most talented European entertainers in more than 200 free performances around the city. The festival is designed for children ages 6-12 and is the largest, most diverse kids' festival in the country...Get the scoop

O-O-Oh My Gosh. Multiplatinum recording artist Usher is bringing his 25-city OMG Tour to downtown D.C. The concert is December 17 at the Verizon Center and will feature fellow R&B artists Trey Songz and Miguel.
