On October 1, 2009, the Washington Convention Center Authority and the DC Sports and Entertainment Commission merged to form one powerhouse organization - The Washington Convention and Sports Authority. This collaboration of operations will enhance offerings to residents and visitors to the District and showcase the nation's capital as a premier destination.

The U.S. Men's National Soccer Team will play Costa Rica on October 14 at RFK Stadium in a FIFA World Cup qualifier, closing out the team's final round of qualifying matches. The FIFA World Cup is the ultimate world championship in men's soccer. Team USA is one of over 200 teams vying for 31 places in the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa.
RFK Stadium has hosted the national team 19 times, and has been the site of 12 U.S. wins - more than any stadium in the world (overall record: 12-3-4).

The EagleBank Bowl is rolling out
DCember Rocks at RFK, the theme for this year's bowl advertising campaign. In homage to the bowl game's month and city location, DCember Rocks at RFK highlights the high energy and anticipation for D.C.'s college football bowl game. Fans through the years have also enjoyed RFK's legendary bouncy seats and rockin' stands for many great sporting events.
