Former forward Raúl Díaz Arce and former team broadcaster Danilo Noel Dirón will be inducted into D.C. United's Hall of Tradition on September 12. Attention college football fans! Come join us for the EagleBank Bowl Game of the Week - a college football watch party held weekly at a venue in the D.C. area. This weekly series begins with Virginia Tech vs. Alabama at Public Bar in Dupont Circle at 8 p.m September 5, and continues through the end of the season. Food and drink specials, prizes and merchandise each week.

9/11 National Day of Service
and Remembrance at RFK

The DC Sports and Entertainment Commission and Greater DC Cares have partnered to bring a signature service project to RFK Stadium as part of the inaugural 9/11 National Day of Service and Remembrance. Volunteers assigned to the RFK site will work with the Armed Services YMCA's Operation Kid Comfort program to create quilts and pillows for the children of deployed servicemen and women. The quilts and pillows will incorporate a variety of family photos featuring the child and their deployed parent.

Sports, entertainment, culture - this one's got it all. Experience Opera - and Nats Park - in a whole new way with this year's Target FREE Opera in the Outfield. Bring a blanket and camp out in the outfield, or register early to reserve a seat in the stands, and watch a live simulcast of "The Barber of Seville," performed by the Washington National Opera at the Kennedy Center. The DC Rollergirls are ready to rumble! Scare Force One, the DC DemonCats and the Cherry Blossom Bombshells hit the track rolling September 27 for the first bout of the 2009-10 season. The Rollergirls host six regular season bouts, the league championship bout and two special All-Star bouts this season at the DC Armory. Stay tuned for special promotions with the DC Rollergirls and cast members from the new movie Whip It! later this month. Whip It!, starring Ellen Page and directed by Drew Barrymore, hits theaters October 2.
Capitals and Wizards 
Open Training Camps
  
The Washington Capitals and Washington Wizards open training camps this month in preparation for their upcoming seasons.
 
The Capitals take the ice for three preseason games at the Verizon Center September 21, 23 & 27 and host the inaugural Capitals Convention on September 26. 
The Wizards hit the court for training camp at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond at the end of the month with preseason games in October.
