Winter Hazards
Anti Freeze- is highly toxic and very small amounts are all that is needed to harm your dog or cat and potentially kill them. You will see signs within 12 hours. The sooner they are seen by a vet, the more likely they are to recover. Antifreeze is a winter and summer hazard to always be aware of. It tastes and smells very sweet to our beloved fury friends. There is a safe alternative that costs a little more than traditional anti freeze called propylene glycol. It's a small price to pay to insure your pets safety.
Eating Snow- snow looks fun to your dog, but there are two very good reasons they should not eat it. You can't always see what's lurking within the snow that may be dangerous if ingested. In extreme cases eating too much snow can cause hypothermia.
De-Icers- some are toxic when ingested (when a dog cleans their feet after being outside). Make sure you wipe their paws very good after going outside. Don't forget to check their pads for snowballs, the accumulation of snow on the fur between their pads as well.
Arthritis-cold, damp weather aggravates athritis in dogs and cats during the winter months. While older pets are most affected, some younger cats and dogs and even those who have had a fractured bone in the past, can suffer the discomforts of arthritis. There are many new natural and medicinal treatments that you can discuss with your vet to help your pooch feel their best and live a long healthy life.

Daycare Buzz
* Some of our furry friends need a little help knowing when to take a nap- Bella the Bulldog looked a little tired so Courtney and Shaunna made her all cozy in a cubby with some blankets. Within 5 mins she was snoring so loudly, Jake the Boxer had to keep checking on her, to see if she was ok.

* It's true, some breeds do tend to stay together- When Alaska the Husky came in to daycare, Bailey another Husky came running through the doggie door howling (like Huskies do!) to let us know her friend was here!
Amanda
*Triton was sleeping on the bridge when suddenly Cyrus (Bloodhound) sneezed and scared Triton right off the bridge. Don't worry, noone was harmed during this comical event!
Tracy
* Mason, one of our newest members of daycare ( Doberman puppy) finally graduatd to the big room with the big guys! His first day our there wiped him out, we caught him taking a nap on Lance's long and warm Golden Retriever fur! Very sweet moment and what a nice boy Lance was for letting Mason lay on him!
