| DONATIONS |

We always keep blankets and bedding here for our boarding, daycare, grooming and surrender dogs, due to wear and tear alot of our bedding is having to be thrown away. If you have anything you do not have use for anymore and you would like to get rid of (old comforters, sheets, blankets, pillows, pillow cases, ect. Classie Canines and our extended dog family will be happy to put them to good use.
Thank you |

New year Resolutions |

Now that 2009 is quickly coming to an end and we are all thinking about our resolutions for the upcoming new year please keep all our 4 legged creatures in mind. Just as the failing economy has touch every one of us one way or another, it has also changed the lives of millions of animals who have not idea what economy means. All the shelters left have been passed all the animals who could no longer be cared for by there owners. They need our help in order to keep helping them, so please if you can offer any help although money is always needed you can donate other precious gifts like pet foods, old blankets, beds, cages, towels, foster care and your time.
Please contact your local shelter to see how you can help.

Holiday don'ts for dogs
Holly, mistletoe and poinsettia plants are poisonous to dogs and cats. Make sure they are kept in places your pet cannot reach. Remember to pick up any leaves, blooms and berries that have fallen. Poinsettias were once thought to be highly poisonous. The toxicity of poinsettias is actually quite low but ingesting the leaves or flowers can cause stomach upset . The berries of some varieties of holly are toxic. They can cause nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. Certain varieties of mistletoe contain toxins that can cause stomach and intestinal irritation, and diarrhea. Some veterinarians recommend that vomiting be induced following ingestion of mistletoe leaves, stems, or berries. Christmas cactus and amaryllis bulbs are also toxic. If you think your pet may have eaten parts of a toxic plant, call your veterinarian. Possible symptoms are excessive salivation, runny nose, watery eyes, skin rash, breathing or swallowing difficulties, vomiting or convulsions.
Tinsel can also be dangerous for dogs. If swallowed, it may block the intestines. Obstruction of the intestines is an emergency situation that requires surgery. So please if you can not keep an eye on your dog during the busy holiday season, make sure he or she is safely away in a crate or a separate room to assure a safe and happy holiday for all!!! |
