January 2011
Greetings!

Happy New Year!  New year, new yarn, new you

Whatever your New Year resolutions are, you can be sure that knitting is one you'll be able to keep!!  Why not perfect a few skills in a workshop, or join a class or even try to come to Sit & Knit once in a while on a Saturday morning.  And a FYI for you multi-taskers.....I have been informed that you burn 29 calories an hour simply sitting and knitting.  Unless, of course, you are one of those people (hmm....hmmm) who can knit while on the treadmill......then, the possibilities are endless!!

Cheers to "Happy Needles in 2011"

It's our Birthday!!!!

PROJECT OF THE MONTH

"THE KNITTERS BOOK OF YARN"

Knitters Book of Yarn

The Knitters Book of Yarn, by Clara Parkes, will teach you everything you need to know about yarn.  How it's made, who makes it, how it gets to you, and what it longs to become.  The next time you pick up a skein, you won't have to wonder what to do with it.  You'll just know - the way any yarn whisperer would!

This wonderful "bible" is a must have for every knitter.  The author has broken down the mystery of yarn and how to make the perfect selection for every project you want to tackle.  In addition, she's included some wonderful and creative project patterns, many utilizing yarn selections we carry at In the Loop!

We've whipped up a couple for your enjoyment!  The Foolproof Baby Hat is appropriately named and just precious and so incredibly soft in Malibrigo worsted.  Another of our favorites is the Scaruffle.  We've made it with one skein of the Filatura DiCrosa Superior, which is a cashmere/silk blend as light as a feather!

For the month of January, we will be offering the book AND materials you will need for any project patterns found in the book for an introductory discount of 20%!!

We hope that you come in and take advantage of this wonderful January only special.

Heather's Help

Each month our newest resident knitting guru, Heather, will provide us with a bit of wisdom, useful tip, or a lesson well learned.

Frogging fluffy or sticky yarns like mohair can be difficult even leading to yarn loss. Try this little magic trick.... put the knitting into the freezer for a while; when you take it out your ripping will go much faster!

Who couldn't use a cashmere popsicle!!!!!!
Looking forward to another year of Keeping Your Needles Happy!!

Sincerely,

In The Loop
