|WV GIS Bill|
On 22 January 2010 the WVAGP Board adopted a resolution in support of HB 4003 and companion bill SB 359 which recognize the association as a GIS User Group in West Virginia. In 2009 the WVAGP membership adopted a similar resolution in support of this bill.
The WVAGP Board encourages its members to support this legislation.
|In 2009 the WVAGP membership approved two resolutions related to GIS and surveying.
The first resolution was the approval of a map disclaimer policy to encourage geospatial professionals to appropriately cite data sources on hardcopy maps.
|WV Expands STEM Education with ESRI Software|
West Virginia has adopted ESRI's GIS software statewide as part of its national effort to expand science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education. Read more.

|Call for Board Nominations|
|Nominations are now open for six board positions whose terms expire on July 1, 2010. Nominees for the board shall consent in writing to uphold the bylaws of the association, attend all meetings of the board, and accept committee service.
Individuals can nominate themselves to the board. Please submit all nominations to the Election Chair by email. Nominations will close April 23, 2010.
