Dinner at 6 pm

You are invited to a very special evening...
celebrating the blessing of Divine Friendship we share with one another that makes the spiritual path so much fun.

We will entertain and inspire each other with music, words, and an elegant dinner prepared in authentic Japanese style.

We will close the evening with an opportunity for you to make an offering at the altar. Your financial support, large and small, is vital to our continuing to offer the countless services through Ananda's Temple, such as classes, music, kirtans, Sunday services, and the many special events, meditations and ceremonies in which we participate.

We hope you can join us!

Greetings!

Did you notice in the last issue that Doreen Andrews offered a guest space in the Ananda Community? There has long been a need for this guest or seclusion space, but unfortunately, the community could not support the cost of a mostly vacant apartment.

Since Doreen can't live in the United States full-time, she is generously making her apartment available for the 6 months each year when she will live in Canada.

The proceeds will benefit the community. Thank you so much Doreen, and also Victoria, who is handling the reservations for this lovely guest space.

Kirtan
Kirtan Musicians
Tom & Ramesha
Friday, April 30, 6 - 9 pm
If you enjoy music, either singing yourself, or sitting quietly while others make music around you, come take part in Ananda's Friday evening chanting sessions, or kirtan in Sanskrit.

The sacred sounds of chants penetrate deeply into the consciousness. They have the power to transform and uplift the soul, and to open the heart. Chanting is an excellent, easy way to lift your spirits, and leave behind the stresses of everyday life. Come for all or part of the evening.

Create Material Success through Yoga Principles

Each week, these lessons provide a basis to probe into subtle levels of reality. They bring to the surface new ideas, insights and tools to put into action so that we can live our lives more effectively and joyously.

Last week we discussed the art of compromise, and the importance of working with others with a sense of inner freedom harmony.

This week, we'll study Lesson 13, Keep Your Feet on the Ground, which takes a closer look at the very basis of reality-energy, and our ability to express that energy uniquely. Kriyananda writes,

The yoga science helps people to probe beneath familiar realities. It makes them more conscious of their breathing, for instance. It helps them also to deepen their awareness of subtle realities of the body such as energy and consciousness. Material success through yoga principles means, among other things, probing beneath the ordinary to subtler levels of insight.

Join Raghu & Sabari Thursday evening at 7 pm for a lively discussion.
