Dr. Cheryl Wilkie, via alliance with Easter Seals, takes the helm at Webster Place Recovery Center

During the 4th quarter of 2010, and as we came to the close of our 3rd fiscal year of operations, the Webster Place Board of Directors,  asked Easter Seals of NH and Dr. Cheryl Wilkie,  (Senior Director of Substance Abuse Services for  Farnum Center in Manchester) to conduct an operational survey. The focus of the survey was to identify areas where we could strengthen the fulfillment our mission to best help men and women with their recovery from alcohol and other drugs.

Blazing new trails

Taking a quick break, Cheryl has a little fun blazing new trails in the beautiful fresh snow blanketing the fields at Webster Place this winter. The farmland is right on the Franklin snowmobile trail which runs along the old railroad beds following the Merimack river and route 3.

Springing forward: maple syrup time.
The maple trees are flowing and soon another batch of our delicious maple syrup with be served up at the Sunday Pancakes & Promises meetings.

It looks to be another terrific year for making our famous maple maple treessyrup. As March brings heralds in the the spring, it brings with it this delicious New Hampshire tradition. Maple sugaring, as it's know, is one of the many fun things we get to do as staff and residents.

The Family Healing Strategies Workshop
Authored and facilitated by Addictions Consultant, Diana Clark JD, MA

This workshop is specifically geared toward helping people understand the disease of addiction. Learning how to effectively create a supportive environment for recovery is a key component to an addict's success. Knowing how to identify signs/symptoms and showing support, rather than enablement are also important areas of focus.

We encourage anyone who is connected to alcoholics/addicts by blood or by love to attend this informative session. Workshops take place the first Sunday of every month from 9am - noon.

The number of participants in each session is limited, so we encourage anyone interested in participating to contact Diana today at FamilyHealingStrategies@gmail.com or 802.236.0145. or for the next scheduled family workshop date and time you can also email info@websterplace.org or call 603 934 2020.
