VERGILIAN SOCIETY  VILLA RENOVATION

Greetings!

Many of you will already know that much-needed restoration and repairs are currently underway at the Villa Vergiliana.  Mina Sgariglia is making frequent photographic records of the progress that has at long last begun.  I attach a link to the growing set of photos from the Cuma region, from our tours and exchanges, and from the construction.  I know that when I see the stucco and and iron details of the Villa, I am carried back to my stay there in summer 2007.  Most recently, an enormous water tank has been installed via crane, and the photographs are quite dramatic.

For those of you considering a visit with exchange students or with a tour, be reassured that the project is designed to take place even while the Villa hosts guests.  It should be a very memorable experience to be part of this important renovation!

Yours sincerely,
