This month we'd like to promote one of most important initiatives
we have here at Life Christian Counseling Network:

Our amazing Interns!

Over the past year and half, we've had the wonderful opportunity to bring on several interns who are in the process of finishing their Master's or Doctorate degrees in the counseling and mental health field.

"Interns? Doesn't that mean they have no idea what they're doing??"

Absolutely not! During the process of earning an advanced degree in counseling, a candidate is required to spend several hundred hours in closely supervised counseling. Our Interns' time with us comes as the culmination of years of education and training. Interns are using their real world experience, as well as the techniques and methods they've acquired during their education.

"Won't an Intern be too young to understand what I'm dealing with?"

Everyone has their own timeline when it comes to school and education. In the case of our current two interns, Rochelle Bell and Linda Kline-Lau, both have returned to school after having established a career in different fields. Their life experiences have uniquely prepared them to help those in need of help.

Through our Internship program, we are able to offer clinically-sound counseling at a much reduced rate, ranging from $35 to $50 dollars per 45-minute session. This is a great option for people whose insurance doesn't approve out of network benefits. This fee closely resembles what a co-pay fee would be for the majority of people.

For more information on our Intern services, as well as location and hours, please give us a call at 1.888.283.4220, or send us an email at [email protected].

RLBRochelle Bell, M.A. (Intern)

Rochelle Bell is a caring, compassionate person, who has a heart bent towards the hurting. Her passion and goal in life is to help others live lives that are wholesome, complete and pleasing to God. God has been so merciful, kind and loving to her, that she only has a heart to offer the same to those who cross her path.

During her time as a credit counselor Rochelle recognized that the problems of many of her clients were much deeper than their finances. This understanding along with her faith walk inspired her to pursue a Christian counseling degree, so that she could more effectively help clients recognize and resolve their core issues. Rochelle Bell is a graduate of Capital Bible Seminary where she earned a Masters degree in Christian Counseling and Discipleship and continues to do post-graduate coursework. She also holds a BA in Business Administration from Delaware State College University.

Linda Kline-Lau has a passion for working with hurting people and a desire to help them resolve their core issues so that they can become all that God designed them to be. Her goal is to help people uncover the true sources of "the chains that bind them" and the pain each person carries so that they can be healed, break free and live according to God's good plan for them. She strongly believes that true healing can only come through the power and intervention of our Lord, Jesus Christ and the work of the Holy Spirit.

In her personal faith-journey and her own quest to overcome depression and self-esteem issues, Linda has gained valuable life experience in many areas. These areas include experiencing the death of a parent, loss through suicide, eating disorders, anger management, relationship issues, divorce, marital counseling, and numerous lessons on life in a blended family. Linda believes that the adversities of life and her ever-deepening relationship with God are all part of His plan to prepare her to carry out His work by helping others.

Counseling is a calling. It takes many years of education, training and clinical supervision, and tens of thousands of dollars of graduate school tuition to fulfill that special call. But the difficulty of preparation is nothing compared to the joy of working as a professional Christian counselor.

Thank you for giving us the privilege of walking with you through the difficulties in your life.

I've been invited to share the pulpit this Sunday with Lead Pastor Vic Simpson at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Huntingtown, Maryland as he continues the series, "Your Bod and God". I'll be speaking about the "Process of -- and the Obstacles to -- Change". For information, click here: www.emmanuelchurch.tv/index.cfm.

Hope to see you there!
