EarthSpring is here (although some last, desperate snow is flying as I write this).
 
It's April, and the patios are open and waiting for the first warm days (or cool days for brave souls).
 
We're hoping we see a lot of you out there soon, enjoying the long overdue exit of winter.

Why not have your family join our family this year for Easter at Liliana's? We've got lots of great things planned.
 
 
 
 
Easter Jazz Brunch
In addition to our regular Sunday brunch items, we'll be serving:
 
Virginia pit ham with cheese grits
and asparagus with hollandaise
 
Belgian waffles with fresh fruit
and vanilla bean whipped cream
 
Our wonderful brunch jazz guitarist Cliff Frederiksen will be joined by his visiting brother Kevin on bass.   
 
We'll also have a free Easter egg coloring and decorating station for kids (and adults who still think they're kids).
 
Easter Dinner
In addition to our normal full menu, we have a couple of specials to tempt you:
 
Virginia pit ham with gratinéed potatoes
and asparagus with
hollandaise
 
Stuffed pork chop with collard greens
 and sweet potato casserole
 
Lamb skewers with Israeli couscous, apricots and figs,
with wilted kale and lamb jus.
Tuesday Three Course Chef's Menus
 
Paris
We've been having great fun on Tuesdays exploring the foods from around the world that melded together to make New Orleans cuisine what it is today. We started with Cuban / Carribean food, then Spanish, then African, and will be continuing the journey with French, Italian, and Native American.
 
Be sure you're signed up (below) to receive the weekly menus. All three courses are $30, with wine flights for an additional $10. Courses are also available individually priced.
 
 
Here's a preview of this week's 3-course chef's menu, where we explore France:
1st course
Escargot en croûte
with Neuskie's bacon and Pernod butter sauce
 
2nd course
Chicken roulade with black truffle mousse,
roasted new potatoes, and asparagus
 
3rd course
Grand Marnier soufflé

We now feature great local musicians Tuesday through Saturday evenings and on Sunday Brunch.

Briefly, we have:
  • Tuesday: Adam Dachman (piano)
  • Wednesday: Cliff Frederiksen (jazz guitar) and Ken Kuehl (bass)
  • Thursday: Ken Wheaton (acoustic findger-style guitar and vocals)
  • Fridays (except 1st Fridays of the month): Hanson Family Jazz Band
  • First Fridays: Rand Moore Jazz Quintet
  • Saturdays: Harris Lemberg (piano) and Johnny Widdicombe (bass)
  • Sunday Brunch: Cliff Frederiksen (jazz guitar)
 
Cooking Classes / Afternoon with the Chefs 
Entrementier We really shouldn't call these cooking classes, since they are so much more.
 
They're really a way to spend an afternoon with three of our chefs, learning great techniques and getting ideas you can use in your own kitchen.  
 
They are very hands-on, and give you a chance to work with several different chefs at different stations in a real commercial kitchen. You work one-on-one with our chefs to create a three course meal with salad, entrée, dessert, and paired wine for each course. The introductory course is a prerequisite to any of the other courses, so be sure to sign up for that one first! All classes include a 3 course dinner with paired wine, and cost just $100.
 
The next introductory class is Sunday April 19 from 3-5pm. The next intermediate class will be on soups and sauces, and is scheduled for April 26. Be sure to sign up early.
