DECA Shines at State--

37 Head to Nationals


At the state DECA competition March 4-6 in Minneapolis, 91 MWHS students participated in 41 of the 47 events. The top 12 students advanced to the final round in each DECA category. MWHS advanced 56 students/groups to the finals in 26 of the 47 categories. Several students qualified in multiple events.   

Westonka is sending a total of 37 students to the national competition in Salt Lake City, UT, this spring. This is the most students from one high school out of the 63 schools in the State of Minnesota with DECA chapters.
 
 

 

  

Marketing Student of the Year: Additionally, senior Kaitlyn Tierney was named the Minnesota DECA Marketing Student of the year. Chosen as the one student (out of 3000 Minnesota DECA members) to receive this honor, Tierney earns a $500 scholarship.
