Fifty-seven MWHS DECA students attended the 2011 DECA Fall Leadership Conference in downtown Minneapolis on Oct. 30-31. At the annual conference, six students are chosen to represent Minnesota DECA as officers on the State Action Team. This year 19 candidates, including seniors Val Schoenecker and Kaitlyn Tierney of MWHS, campaigned for the State Action Team through interviews, speeches, and campaign booths. 
The fall musical at MWHS, "The Drowsy Chaperone," played to full houses last weekend for four performances Thursday through Sunday. Audiences gave the musical comedy rave reviews. The production debuted on Broadway in 2006 and was the top Tony Award winner that year including awards for book and score.
