URANUS: Whle Uranus does not officially enter the action oriented sign of Aries until March 11, of 2011, it has been sitting at the last degree of Pisces (29 deg) since May of 2010. When a powerful planet, such as an 'outer' planet stays steadily within the last degree of any sign, and also the first degree of a sign, the area of expression connected with that planet can increase significantly.
Uranus will be in the sign of Aries from Mar 11, 2011, through Mid-May of 2018 and from November 2018 through February of 2019.
I believe that each planet carries an energetic pattern, a signature if you will, and we may or may not resonate with this, dependent in part, if we have had experience with this planet via it's placement in our natal chart.
The energies of Uranus in Aries can be erratic, urgent, unpredictable, revolutionary, accident prone, angry and rebellious, and be experienced as sudden, unexpected, disruptive change, as witnessed in extreme weather patterns. The electrical system within the body can feel speeded up, which affects our nervous system, and the manner in which we process information. Hence, it can feel like we're faced with having to interact, respond to stimuli and process information at a much faster pace and with greater frequency.
On a positive note, these energies can also be innovative and highly original . I believe Uranus is also associated with the 'buddhi', a sansktrit word which refers to the higher mind. The buddhi represents the higher aspect of the mind, when awakened to deeper wisdom and universal knowledge, helps us decide, judge, make cognitive discriminations and differentiations, but with a much more elevated awareness, for we can experience sudden flashes of intutive insight, which connect us with the 'truth' in that moment.
It is common to find the planet Uranus well placed in the charts of great thinkers and inventors.
In exploring the relationship between Uranus, to the sign it will be transiting (Aries), we find much in common between this energetic, dynamic duo. Both like to act at lightning speed, can be impulsive and headstrong, but act decisively and fearlessly. Both are open to new possibilities, and are willing to let go and leave behind that which is static and unworkable. And lastly, both are comfortable operating in an instinctual, intuitive manner, or directly from the 'gut', so to speak.
When in a challenging aspect to planets in the Natal chart of an individual or the Natal chart of a country, a tremendeous sense of urgency for revolutionary changes can come about. If there has been a history of long term oppression, that sense of urgency could be magnified considerably.
Transits of Uranus in the Natal Chart of EGYPT
Transits to the modern chart erected for Egypt, show that Egypt is currently in it's Saturn Return (as is the United States!). In the natal chart, there is a challenging T-square configuration involving Saturn conjunct Neptune in Libra in the 6th house, which is in square to an opposition between Uranus/Mercury conjunction in Cancer on the IC to a Capricorn Midheaven. This T-square indicates an ongoing dilemma about holding steadfast to conservative values, and the desire of the people to break free of them, and welcome a more modern approach. The current Saturn Return, creates considerable tension around this ongoing issue and pushes for peaceful resolve.
Along comes Uranus on the cusp of Aries by transit, which creates a volatile square to Egypt's Mars in Cancer in the 3rd house. These two planets interacting together in a challenging manner really push the envelope. Anger, passion, and revolutionary energies escalate at a rapid rate.
The tremendous tension and anger created by the Mars/Uranus square, has been channeled into a massive uprising involving much of the population coming together to demonstrate their anger and voice their intention to accept nothing short of radical change. This of course coincided with The Saturn Return taking place in Egypt's Natal chart, which serves as a reminder of the long standing issues around a desire for reform. These two aspects happening at the same time seem to have significance in how this event subsequently played out and is coming to resolution.
Uranus in Aries in challenge to natal planet(s) within an individual's chart
How this transit plays out is dependent upon the natal planet(s) being activated. In general terms, we can imagine a heightened sense of urgency to assert one's individualtiy, and break free of constraints. There is at the very least, a need to question accepted norms and perhaps rebel against what we perceive as keeping us from the freedom we so desire.
If we've been putting off major changes we know we need to make, a transit from Uranus can push us to make those changes. We may feel rushed and outside of our comfort zone, but the changes can free us up and may ultimately create more independence.
An example of a challenging Uranus transit can be seen in the chart of Arizona Senator, Russell Pearce, who drafted and supported Proposition 1070, the recent controversial Immigration Bill, and who has very recently drafted another Bill, Prop SB 1611 (passed by Senate Appropriations Committee), which makes the first Bill seem liberal by comparison.
Senator Pearce is currently experiencing transiting Uranus in square to his Sun. The very nature of this aspect, would suggest a tendency toward an inflated ego, and a defiant attitude in expressing and staunchly defending one's radical position.
