August 2008   Natal Chart for Barack Obama   Barack Obama's Sun in Leo in the 6th house reveals he is a true idealist and visionary at heart and will work hard and tirelessly toward his mission.  With planets in Leo and Virgo in the 7th house of relationships, he expresses these energies in two ways.  When operating from the Leo side, we see his warm, charismatic personality, leadership abilities, and an easy manner with the public.  When operating from the Virgo side, we would expect him to be very disciplined, organized and hard working, with very good communication skills, and good follow through.  I would expect that he has an excellent memory and keeps himself well informed as to all that is going on around him.   His 4th house Moon in Gemini and 5th house Venus in Cancer indicates he has a good rapport with women and women's issues, is deeply committed to the family ideal and relationships in general, is a good father and an advocate for education and children's rights.   With a semi-sextile aspect between his Moon, Venus & Mercury, we might expect he's very playful and childlike with those he knows well and is very loyal to those he loves.   His Aquarius Rising gives him a strong sense of justice, equality and truth, along with a  deep commitment, and dedication to his life's work, in which he seeks to  reform and make more effective that which he focuses on.   This rising sign indicates open mindedness, a willingness to explore all sides of an issue and seek views and advice from a wide array of experts in specific fields for the purpose of discovering creative, innovative solutions to the issues at hand.   Having Pluto and Mars in Virgo in the 7th house, associated with relationships, is indicative of a razor sharp, detail oriented mind, a tendency toward being precise and exact in all he does, along with the ability to be practical and very 'present'.  Mars in Virgo indicates humility and a commitment to self-improvement, along with a strong sense of service towards others.  Uranus in Leo (also in the 7th house) carries an attitude of 'anything is possible' and helps create a larger than life vision, along with a heightened perception and powerful creative urges.   This aspect of Barack's nature can give him the ability to ignite the dreams and hopes of others.       His 12th house Saturn in Capricorn suggests a healthy respect for tradition, politics and the laws that govern society, but this placement is also conjunct his Jupiter in Aquarius, which is strongly aligned with alternative, progressive thinking and a strong commitment to environmental issues, social issues, health care, education and technology.   There's also something 'regal' about this placement, with a karmic suggestion that he has been in powerful public roles in prior lives.  The positive trine between the Saturn/Jupiter conjunction to his Gemini 4th house Moon, indicates the capacity to forge long lasting, respectful relationships with individuals and to all that he commits to.  He is also likely to  reach out and include others in his plans wherever possible.    He has a very intuitive, Grand Trine configuration involving the planets Neptune in Scorpio in the 9th house, Venus in Cancer in the 5th house and Chiron in Pisces in the 1st house.  This beneficial pattern encourages him in developing his intuition and faith in a Divine Power, and gives him a heightened capacity to feel compassion and empathy towards others.  The transformative gift of this grand trine is related to operating as a healing and transformational force to uplift and inspire others.  This placement suggests that he has learned to 'check in' with his feelings and intuition as to whether he is aligned with the 'flow' and make adjustments accordingly.  Above all, this Grand Trine would suggest that he has no doubt that his life and destiny is in the hands of God.   Barack also has a T-square pattern involving Saturn/Jupiter in the 12th house, in opposition to Mercury in Leo in the 6th house, which is squared by Neptune in Scorpio in the 9th house.  This pattern reflects a strong idealist nature, a deep desire to be respected and taken seriously by those he admires, which in part is related to seeking a healthy father figure image.  The challenge of this T-square patterns lies in Barack coming to a realization about the long term, absolute dedication and determination that will be required on his part in order to actualize his ideals and beliefs on the physical plane.   As I look at the natal chart of Barack Obama, it leaves me with no doubt that he is up for the job just given him!
