SAN JOSE, Calif., February 25, 2010
- Tickets are available for The Singing Heart,
featuring The Choral Project and the debut of its two new ensembles,
Menharmonics (men's chorus) and Amaranth (small vocal jazz group), in a stirring concert that captures and
glorifies the joy, grace, and power of music. The concert will feature
selections that celebrate singing and its ability to transform and
heal. Repertoire includes Paul Basler's cross-cultural Alleluia, Bob Chilcott's touching setting of The Singing Heart, as well as songs featuring all three ensembles together in performance.
Additionally, we will be announcing the winners of our annual choral composition contest and performing all three pieces. Join us for this truly magical evening of song.

ABOUT THE CHORAL PROJECT

Celebrating
14 years of musical excellence, The Choral
Project has developed an outstanding reputation for performing high-level
choral literature and bridging the gap between text and music, singer and
spectator. The award-winning ensemble has performed throughout the world in
concert performances, receiving rave reviews and standing ovations. The San
Jose Mercury News hailed the choir as "a
Bay Area jewel," stating that "there
is nothing subtle about why this is one of the best choirs you will ever hear."
The Choral Project has received numerous awards in some of the world's most
celebrated choral festivals, including the 2007 California International Choral
Competition and the 58th annual International Eisteddfod in Llangollen, Wales.
The
Choral Project has released seven albums: The
Cycle of Life, Of Christmastide, Americana,
Water & Light (the group's #1best seller on the Clarion label), Winter, One is the All, and most recently, Tell the World, a live recording of African-American spirituals and
contemporary gospel music. All these
recordings can be found on iTunes, CDBaby.com, and www.choralproject.org.
