Veterans Memorial

Letter from the General Manager

Franklin County Veterans Memorial is gearing up for fall. We have had a great summer hosting 2 sold out performances for Daniel Tosh; more than 1,000 people sat for the Ohio Bar Exam, and more than 2,500 people graduated from Columbus Public Schools, Upper Arlington Schools, Southwestern City Schools, Franklin University, Columbus State Community College, OSU College of Nursing, and Fortis College.

We are excited that there are some modifications being done within our venue. The administrative offices will be relocating to the first floor of our auditorium which means all customers would enter our building using the auditorium main doorway. Our parking lot resurface project is underway: we are in the midst of improving our parking to allow more cars and have better traffic flow in and out of our lot. The stage elevator is also another project that is underway. When complete it will help us to better serve our existing customers and give us an opportunity to accommodate new and larger events. Stay tuned for more details.

As we head into fall, we are looking forward to the annual Bargain Box sale, Paul Simon, Kenny Rogers, the Picnic of HOPE, Central Ohio Stand Down and the International Festival to name a few. Please visit our website for a full listing of our upcoming events.

A Look at Our Clients

We are so fortunate to have such wonderful clients and a full portfolio of diverse events that fill our building year after year. Some of the returning clients that we owe our success to are the India Festival, Columbus Kiwanis College Fair, the Columbus Toy Show, Stanton's Sheet Music, Singing Buckeyes, the Ferret Buckeye Bash, ABC 6 Job Boot Camp, and the Sternwheeler Cat Show.

Some events to look forward to in the near future are the Picnic of HOPE, which gives a hand to those in need; they will be holding their event on our East Lawn.   Paul Simon and Kenny Rogers will both be performing in our auditorium. Make sure to stay up to date with our upcoming events by visiting our website at www.fcvm.com.

We would be remiss if we did not mention TBDBITL: The Ohio State Marching Band. This year will be the last year that Dr. Jon Woods will be directing. After 28 years, Dr. Woods will be retiring. We wish him the best of luck and thank him for work over the years. Come watch him direct the OSU Marching Band on our stage on Sunday, November 13, 2011.

We would also like to thank some of our new clients who we hope will continue to partner with us in the coming years. Avon recently held their new product launch and we were delighted to welcome them into our building. The Columbus Music Co op was another successful event which had our Brehm Room filled with the sound of so much young talent. The Columbus Mothers of Twins Club will be holding their bi-annual consignment sale at Veterans Memorial where the West Hall will be filled with discounted items for multiples. And last, but not least, the AFPD has signed up to hold their event with us on October 20.

Thank you to all of our clients and everyone who has attended an event at Veterans Memorial.

Current Projects

There are some exciting projects currently taking place at Veterans Memorial. Many of you may have noticed activity in the parking lot. We have been busy cleaning up the lot to get ready for a complete resurfacing. A new surface will make Veterans Memorial look more inviting.

Along with the parking lot project, we will be replacing our stage elevator. This will allow a heavier minimum load weight which will open the doors to more events. Many events that we have not been able to accommodate in the past are now welcome and can be accommodated at Veterans Memorial. We look forward to hosting these new events.

We Are Moving...

Down the Hall

This fall, the administrative office of Veterans Memorial will be moving to a new location within the facility. We will now be located on the first floor of the East side of the building. To get to the new office, enter through the rotunda and take the stairs or elevator to the first floor. Follow the hallway to the right until you get to our new location.

This move will not alter our mailing address, fax number or phone number. See below for directions to the new location within our building.
