| Letter from the General Manager |
It is incredible how quickly the year has passed and it has been a great one at Franklin County Veterans Memorial. As you will read in this newsletter, we made a part of history in facilitating the Early and Absentee Voting for Franklin County; we completed the painting of our North Exhibition Hall, and have continued to grow our business during challenging times.
We are extremely excited to announce we have booked 6 concerts to be presented over the next 7 weeks. This would include Brian McKnight, two Columbus Symphony Orchestra concerts, Daddy Yankee, Rodney Carrington and hip hop artist TI. It has been nearly a decade since we have had this much concert activity in our theater.
As we move into 2009, we are pleased to present the opening night for the Columbus Symphony Orchestra featuring Senator John Glenn, a new AAA Great Vacations expo and Rodney Carrington, as well as our Bridal Show, Golf Show, Gun Show and Kidzapalooza. Join us during the upcoming winter season, as there is always something exciting to do at Vets for your weekend activities. Please log onto our website at www.fcvm.com to keep informed of all the fun available. I would like to personally thank everyone who was involved in making 2008 such a successful year for Veterans Memorial, and I wish all of you a safe and happy holiday season.
John Loree, General Manager

| Wow! What a Difference
Come See Our Improvements |
|
Although we always encourage site-visits, we are sending out a special invitation to come check out our North Hall which has just undergone a facelift. The hall, which until recently, sported a tri-colored wall with colors on the hit list from the 1970s including rust, brown and yellow is now a crisp pale blue. Our hall now looks much larger and more inviting. The best part is that this is only the beginning of the improvements we have planned for your Veterans Memorial. Please call (614) 221-4341 and set up a tour with one of our staff members and they can tell you all about the changes to come.
BEFORE AFTER |
| Board of Elections at Veterans Memorial
Veterans Memorial in the International Spotlight |
This year we partnered with our County and the Board of Elections to be the site for Franklin County voters to cast early and absentee votes. As many of you are aware, our building saw larger and larger crowds as we counted down to Election Day. We were encouraged to see so many people taking advantage of this new option for voting. During this exercise we had local, national and international media on our doorstep (such as The Columbus Dispatch shown below), waiting lines of up to five hours, and campaigners in our parking lot. With all of this activity, our staff and voters represented Franklin County with pride. Few complaints and many volunteers and smiling faces made this time one that will always be remembered by everyone involved.

| Vaud-Villities
American Originals |
America's oldest and largest musical production has called Veterans Memorial home for over forty years. This year Vaud-Villities will present "AMERICAN ORIGINALS", honoring our nation's legendary music makers. This home-grown music and dance spectacular has become a treasured tradition in Columbus, drawing audiences from all over Ohio and other states.
Two hundred and fifty singers and dancers, backed by a 20-piece orchestra, treat you to a wide assortment of musical styles - from old favorites to Broadway to Rock & Roll. The performances, costumes, sets, lighting, energy and excitement rival the best in professional musical theatre.
