School-Based Services Create Seamless Transition

Fourteen-year-old Sarah witnessed extreme violence in her life - stabbings, gunfights, drug use and more.  She started working with a Project PAVE school-based counselor at Morey Middle School when she was in the 6th grade.  This year she is a freshman at East High, where she was able to smoothly transition to a new partnership with Project PAVE's counselor at East.

School-Based TeenProject PAVE's collaboration with all three area schools together - Whittier K-8, Morey Middle and East High is in it's third successful year.

Youth who have experienced relationship violence are benefiting from counselors being in these three specific schools.  Youth and families that start working with a counselor in one school are able to seamlessly shift to another counselor in their new school.

Every 15 seconds a woman is abused in America. Teen dating violence is on the rise in our communities.

End the Silence

According to Dr. Phil, host of the Dr. Phil Show, it is the most under-reported phenomenon in our society. To combat this silent epidemic, he
is launching a season-long attack on the domestic violence that is destroying the lives of women and children.

Learn more about his efforts, and take the pledge to end the silence!

One of Dr. Phil's suggestions to ending the silence is to support organizations that work to end the cycle - you can make a difference by donating now to Project PAVE!

Secret Chefs Event Raises More Than $50k

Project PAVE's 18th Annual Secret Chefs Wine Dinner and Silent Auction raised more than $50,000 for early intervention counseling and violence prevention education.

Held October 17 at Strings Restaurant, almost 200 gSecret Chefs 2010uests enjoyed an eight-course meal with expertly paired wines. The evening's menu featured an herb marinated roasted rack of lamb with Nicoise olives, an autumn dilled carrot soup, and a beef tenderloin over a truffle bread pudding.
