Teen Dating Violence Program Increases Capacity
In parternship with the Denver DA's Office, Project PAVE applied for and received federal recovery monies to support and expand the Teen Dating Violence Prevention Program.
Part-time prevention educator, Eneri Rodriguez, will move into a full-time position. As a result the number of students reached for this academic school year is expected to increase in record numbers. It will also allow Project PAVE to expand current relationships with schools and build new alliances in the Denver Metro area.
The funds will be used to expand programs with the Angels Against Abuse club at East High School. A Teen Community Educators Program will begin to train a group of club members as violence prevention educators, who will then facilitate presentations in the community to educate parents, youth groups, faith-based organizations and other stakeholders.
