In the heat of the burning volcano that exploded in Cairo, Egypt (Isaiah 19:22-24 ),  Islamic beliefs have been brought to the forefront of many Americans' concern and curiosity. More recent controversy over the proposed building of a cultural center-mosque in New York City at Ground Zero along with the threatened Qur'an burning in Florida have served to increase our anxiety and confusion. It has become hard not to be suspicious and look at Muslims with contempt and blame for the radical beliefs of those who mean harm to Americans and Christians and others who do not submit to Allah (Quran 860 9:29). It is for this purpose that we offer a Bible Study/Seminar with the focus on:

"ISLAM  IN  THE  LIGHT OF  THE  CROSS"   

with Rev. Karim Baidaoui of POBLO-TX 

 The purpose of this Bible study is to:   

• Make Disciples of the Cross and plant Churches of All Nations based on Rev 7:9-11.
• Know  the answer to the question "Is the God of Muhammad the Father of Jesus?" or "Is the Father of Jesus the God of Muhammad?"   
• Catch the vision of reaching a  specific people, beyond just sending and supporting missionaries.
• Inform Christians about Islam, and transform them as

  disciples of the cross in order to reach out to all peoples.

• Study the contrast between  religion and faith, contending that the cross of Christ crushes religion so that faith in Christ may arise.
•  Learn the contrast between the theology of glory and the theology of the cross.
• In this Bible study you will be able to learn how  we as Christians are to respond to those who hold to a religion so very different from and contradictory to our own without compromising the truth and uniqueness of Christ in the Gospel.

It is our hope that through this Bible Study you will be able to gain a richer understanding of Christianity in the light of the cross and how crushing religion of the glory will bring victory and that faith in Christ may arise.  

There is not a day that passes by with Islam not effecting the world in one way or another. Our culture is changing, right here, right now.  Muslims are in our our churches, schools, grocery stores, post office, shopping malls; opportunities are everywhere to reach out and befriend these new neighbors.  The time is now, to learn and grow, be ready for that opportunity, when you least expect to share your faith.  Acts 17:26-27
