Improving Your Member Experience: Repairs to Locker Rooms and Shower Facilities

At the YM-YWHA we are always working to improve your member experience. In parallel with building the new Ben Weider Fitness Centre of Excellence, we are undertaking repairs to the locker room and health club facilities at the Ben Weider JCC.

This past week our maintenance staff repaired the tiles in the women's general locker room. The work was performed 3 days ahead of schedule and the showers in the women's general locker room re-opened on Thursday September 18th.

In the coming weeks, we will begin repairs on the women's health club showers, followed by the men's health club and steam room, and concluding with work to the general men's locker room shower facilities and replacement of the sink counter tops.

We are doing our best to minimize the impact on our members, and we apologize for any inconvenience during the renovations.

Update on the Ben Weider Fitness Centre of Excellence: Jacobs Ladder

Jacobs Ladder If you're wondering what's in store when we open the new Ben Weider Fitness Centre of Excellence, here's a sneak peek:

Jacobs Ladder is a patented commercial cardio machine specifically designed for fitness enthusiasts, athletes and professionals. Its unique design places the user at a 40° angle in order to take stress off of the lower back.

Because Jacobs Ladder is self-paced, the faster you go, the faster it goes. In order to stop, just slow down. Jacobs Ladder is also self-powered, so without the need for an electrical outlet, it can be placed anywhere in the facility.

The Fitness and Cycling Performance Program (FCP)

Beginning September 30th, we will be hosting a special 12-week periodized conditioning program designed for cycling and fitness enthusiasts of all levels.  The workouts will consist of on and off the bike training, designed to get you progressively stronger throughout your movements, while providing ways to measure your improving fitness on the bike.
