| Military Affairs Community Golf Tourney ~ August 20 |
Plan on being a part of the 6th Annual Community Appreciation Golf Tournament sponsored by the WACC Military Affairs Committee and Eagle Ridge Golf Club. Proceeds will go to the Military Affairs Committee, "Supporting our Military ~ Past, Present and Future." Last year we were able to give $500 for gifts for the veterans at Christmas, $500 to the North Dakota Rough Rider Honor Flight and $500 to the Family Support Group to help pay for the active National Guard members meals at their annual Military Ball. This 18-hole event will take place at Eagle Ridge Golf Club, Saturday, August 20, 2011. This tournament will be played rain or shine. The entry fee for this "18 Hole Team Scramble" tournament is $80 per person with 4 per team and is open to all. Registration/Check-in will begin at 8:00 a.m. Coffee and donuts will be served during this time. Shot Gun Start is at 10:00 a.m. Lunch will be provided. Cash & prizes in excess of $2500! The Dance Fever Booster Club is a parent based fund-raising group charged with raising funds for the senior Dance Fever team's special dance trips/appearances, competitions, costumes, and registrations. The Dance Fever Senior team auditioned and was chosen to dance in the 2011 Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York. Wildcat Pizzeria is now open. They will operate from 11am to midnight 7 days a week. They offer thin crust, New York-style pizza, subs, Stromboli, salads, hot-dogs, and a frozen yogurt bar. Tim Tracy, Russell Meads, and Nick Sparry are co-owners of the restaurant. Tracy and Meads come to Williston from Cape Code, MA and Sparry is from New York City. The group has over 30 years experience in the pizzeria business. One of Meads former pizzerias won 4th place in a national pizza competition in Las Vegas.

The Bismarck-Mandan Chamber announced it will host a flood recovery conference on Wednesday, Aug. 31 at the Bismarck Civic Center. The conference will feature speakers from cities around the region including: Fargo, Grand Forks, Cedar Rapids and Des Moines, Iowa. The goal of the day is to learn lessons in recovery from other communities.
The day will feature morning and afternoon sessions. Included in each session is a keynote speaker followed by numerous breakout sessions.
While the day is focused on Bismarck-Mandan, the speakers at the conference have statewide appeal. The Chamber is inviting communities across the state and region impacted by flooding to attend the conference. The Chamber is working with Senators Conrad and Hoeven, Congressman Berg and Governor Dalrymple to ensure federal and state issues are included in the conference.
