Taming the Tons |
Dear Friend,
With a slew of holidays coming up, its a getaway with few rivals if you are looking for that much needed active weekend outing.
Our Tons Thriller is a premium trip running June 12-18, where you raft, hike and descend the Middle Tons, in a crescendo iof Class 4 rapids set in incredible scenery.
Non swimmers and first timers are welcome! Kuflon Basics is also geared up for a lazy sojourn into the mountains. So are kids, infants and the elderly. You can choose to hike, do a short river trip, sit on the beach, relax, or learn how to kayak. Honestly, nothing much compares to a weekend of fun filled activity at either of these Camps. TONS OF FUN AT CAMP LUNAGAD, TONS VALLEY - OPENS EARLY MAY THROUGH END-JUNE
Camp Lunagad runs through the summer each year in the western part of Uttarakhand, in the Jaunsar Bawar region on the banks of the Tons river. Located at a pleasant 3500 feet above sea level, this area is rich in every type of western Himalayan flora and fauna, densely forested with deodar, pine, alpine oak, birch, chestnut, rhododendron and jamun.  hygienic meals, lots of activity, make it an ideal getaway for children, families, individuals and groups and corporate teams alike.

For the experienced rafters, graduate to the next level by  trying to paddle your own inflatable, or sign up for our 4 day kayak clinic. Either way, you will learn a skill and have a great day out on the water, under the watchful eyes  of your guide. Or run 2/3 days on a 36 km section of the Ganga, bodysurf, paddle hard on Class 3/4 rapids and spend afternoons hiking, kayaking or playing beach volleyball.

THE HANUMAN CHATTI HURTLE JUNE 05-10, 2011
A moderate trek which starts from the Bhagirathi valley, goes up to the lake of Dodital (wrapped in perfect wilderness) to the alpine meadows and crosses over at Darwa Pass (4150m)  to the Yamuna watershed. Traditionally this trek has been continuously used by the Gujjars, the nomadic herdsmen who get their buffalos to the high meadows every summer and occasionally by the pilgrims / sadhus walking between Gangotri and Yamunotri.
