Lower Tons Expedition
May 28-Jun 5, 2010
A great combination of the Upper and Lower Tons valleys, ending with running a 75 km section of the tropical lower Tons, after visiting the amazing alpine beauty of its upper valley.
Below Tiuni, we encounter a series of Class III+ rapids, followed by Afterglow, Channel Rapid, Pillow talk, Thrice Bitten, Deadly Dedsu before we reach the bridge at Atal. Below Atal, we paddle through a long gorge where we hear ample chatter of monkeys and the call of cuckoos. The land takes a more gentle and tropical rhythm from the upper, more alpine, valley near the base camp. Palm trees grow at the edge of cliffs and their roots drop 80 ft into the nourishing water of the Tons. Read More.... |

Join a motley crew take on the Karnali, widely acknowledged as one of the best multi-day river trips available in the world and literally means 'Holy water from the Sacred mountain'. Descending steep gorges of the river in its upper section, and pristine wilderness, we float into Bardia National Park for two nights, before flying back to Kathmandu
and savouring historic Bhaktapur.
