Last 4 spots left on our year end mission, the Dec 10-22, 2009 Upper Siang Expedition, Arunachal Pradesh, India |

Dear Adventure Traveler,
With an overwhelming response to our expeditions into Arunachal Pradesh, our first Siang departure ran full within weeks of the trip being launched. Our last descent on the Subansari river over Christmas and New Years Eve is also officially closed, on this, the largest tributary of the Siang river.
Only 4 spots are left on our Dec 10-22, 2009 departure on the Siang, open for anyone wishing to end the year with an epic adventure.
Meanwhile, Camp Silver Sands continues to run on the Ganga river, through Christmas and New Years Eve, as well as two winter treks to choose from, should you decide to take a cool Himalayan walk.
As the year draws to a close, we wish you a fabulous festive season, and we will be in touch with a brand new calendar for 2010.
Warmly,
Avilash Bisht |
The Siang / Upper Brahmaputra Descent : Dec 10-22, 2009 |

Be an expedition member on one of the top rafting expeditions in the world ! And, it really does not get bigger than this.
The most exciting way to run the Upper Brahmaputra's (or Siang as its known in Arunachal Pradesh) legendary Ningguing and Marmong gorges, is on a 07-day river trip that we offer in Nov-Dec each year, at the primo time of year for this remote corner of India. We welcome first timers too, as this provides a great insight into the river valley and the tribal way of life.
After your day-one plunge through a ten-mile stretch negotiating rapids like "Ningguing' and 'Pulsating Palsi", you'll be ready to navigate down the Ningguing and Marmong gorges. You will raft encounter the 'Roaring Rikor" and "Zebra Rock", camp on pristine beaches at night, raft down "Moing Madness" and enjoy a wonderful day of rest, relaxation, reading and savouring this special corner of India. Rated as one of the Top Ten Adventures by OUTSIDE magazine and featured by Paddler Magazine on a cover story this legendary river has seen some off the most fascinating exploration in the last century. Watch a brief preview of this river on a film made on our 2002 expedition, now showing on Adventure One Channel, run by National Geographic. | |
WINTER WALKS 2009 |
 |
A short easy trek running parallel to the high Himalayas. Good views all the way, beautiful camping by the lake at Devariyatal and some great forests. In the early spring the rhododendron forest glow red as the flowers bloom. The views from the Chandrashilla top will stay in one's memory for really long.

WHITE CHRISTMAS |
 |
A moderate trek which starts from the Bhagirathi valley, goes up to the lake of Dodital (wrapped in perfect wilderness) to the alpine meadows and crosses over at Darwa Pass (4150m) to the Yamuna watershed. Traditionally this trek has been continuously used by the Gujjars, the nomadic herdsmen who get their buffalos to the high meadows every summer and occasionally by the pilgrims / sadhus walking between Gangotri and Yamunotri. We go right up to the Darwa Top and retrace our steps.
