Our 2008 descent of the Subansari river from Nacho and upstream promises to be a foray into steep gorges and inaccesible terrain. With just two years to go before the river gets contained by damwork, we are hoping to be able to savor its amazing terrain for posterity, in the eyes of our minds.
Our 2006 trip was the first open descent offer of this river, and this year, we go higher upstream for another super adventure! |
Kameng River Expedition Dec 08-16, 2008
NEW TRIP!! Paddle a river only a handful have gone down. The Kameng is isolated, challenging and depending on the river levels, demanding. Originating below the snow capped Gori Chen mountain (6300 metres), the river winds its way down inaccessible gorges and cascades.
Our trip takes us down classic big volume whitewater through steep jungle gorges ending at Bhalukpong near the Nameri National Park. |
Alaknanda River Expedition Oct 1-5, 2008
Choose to raft or paddle an inflatable kayak on this self-contained multi-day river adventure down the Alaknanda & Ganga rivers. The trip starts at Camp Silver Sands on the Ganges river near the pilgrim town of Rishikesh.
Rudraprayag is at the confluence of the Alaknanda and Mandakini rivers, and this is where our multi-dayer begins. The town is best known for the infamous man-eating leopard shot down by Jim Corbett in 1932 in its forests. Journeying 128kms to Rishikesh, the run takes you through thick forests and deep gorges - foaming rapids, sandy beaches and starry nights make this a truly outdoor trip, even for the first time rafter. |
