Back-to-School Physicals & Vaccinations

Back to School

End of summer is not only the time for children to think about their back-to-school physicals and vaccinations; adults need to keep up with their immunizations, too.

Back-to-school time is a perfect time for adults and children of all ages to pause and prepare for the year ahead. Everyone should protect against measles, mumps, rubella, tetanus, diphtheria, pneumonia disease, flu, chickenpox and shingles. You may also need protection against hepatitis A and B. If you were never immunized or never had these vaccine-preventable diseases, you are at risk.

To schedule back to school physicals and immunizations for you kids call (401) 729-2582

My Plate

PYRAMID TO PLATE

In an effort to make it easier for parents to figure out how to feed their kids nutritious, balanced meals, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) has introduced an easy-to-follow food guide icon: MyPlate.

The colorful divided plate includes sections for vegetables, fruits, grains, and foods high in protein. It's an improvement upon the complex and confusing MyPyramid that previously detailed the USDA's dietary guidelines.
