Celebrate Older Americans Month

This theme pays homage to the many ways in which older adults bring inspiration and continuity to the fabric of our community. Is Memory Loss affecting you or a family member?

The Start! Heart Walk is the American Heart Association's signature fund raising event, which promotes physical activity and heart-healthy living in a fun environment. This year, Francis R. Do you know the signs of a stroke?
Stroke is the third leading cause of death and a leading cause of adult disability in the US. Up to 80% of strokes are preventable with the right steps. By knowing the basic signs and symptoms and what to do in the event of a stroke, even you can prevent a stroke!
Face - Ask the person to smile. Does one side of the face droop? Arms - Ask the person to raise both arms. Does one arm drift downward? Speech - Ask the person to repeat a simple sentence. Does the speech sound slurred or strange? Time - If you observe any of these signs, it's time to call 9-1-1 or get to the nearest stroke center or hospital.

There are a number of things you can do to improve sleep. Keeping a regular sleep cycle is one of the most important strategies for achieving good sleep. If you are consistent with going to bed and awakening at the same time each day, you will feel much more refreshed than if you sleep the same number of hours at different times.
