Greetings!

Happy Holidays!

With the holidays approaching, if you are a Stampin' Up! demonstrator, you may purchased the Holiday Helper from Debbie McNeill. I can help with setting up and scheduling the Constant Contact or MailChimp Newsletters or add the blinkies to your sidebar.  I have a Holiday Helper Help Service or just ask me if you get stuck and I'll guide you! No problem.

Remember there's a new format to the newsletter:
  • What's New
  • What's Coming
  • Blogger Tip
  • Typepad Tip
  • (WordPress Tip occasionally)
  • Blog Maintenance Reminder
Enjoy!

Chat Box

I will soon be adding a Chat/Comment Box on my blog, www.blogsbyheather.com so you may go there and comment or ask questions.

Just another way to communicate and to help you as best I can.

A BLOGGER TIP - Installing a Post Separator

This is much easier to do in Blogger than in Typepad, but requires you to Edit HTML.

  1. First, you have to load the image you want to use as the post separator to an online store location...Picasa Web Album, Photobucket, Google Sites, Flickr or other.  You will need the URL to this image.
  2. Next, from the Dashboard, choose Layout, then Edit HTML.
  3. Click on Expand Widgets (check box).
  4. Then scroll down or use CTRL + F to find this line:

    <p class='post-footer-line post-footer-line-2'/>
  5. Then underneath it, write the following:

    <img src="...insert URL path here..."/>
  6. Save changes.

A TYPEPAD TIP - "Faking" a Post Separator

There is a way to do it like Blogger (above) but you would have to have Advanced Templates.  And since I know many people don't, I thought I'd share how you can "fake it".

Basically, just install the image at the end of the post...under your signature or last lines of content.
  1. Create a post as you normally do.
  2. Then under your signature or other ending lines, it the ENTER key a few times to create blank space.
  3. Then insert the image - the footer image and center it using the center justification key on the toolbar.
  4. Publish Post.
