Greetings!
The Arkansas Prostate Cancer Foundation schedule of events is heating up just as the summer months approach. The APCF will be touring the state extensively, so check the list below for upcoming education and screening events. If none of these are near you, check our website as we are always adding locations. We're sure to be near you soon.
Mark your calendar for the APCF signature fundraising event, Boys & Their Toys, August 20. This year we're changing things up a bit--details below. Get ready to rock to the soon-to-be-world-famous B Flats! This year's event is sure to be the most fun yet.
In the midst of a flurry of activity, the APCF doesn't lose sight of the issues at hand and what we need to do to accomplish what must be done -- getting rid of prostate cancer. We're constantly reaching out to those in need to help make difficult decisions easier. At the bottom of this newsletter, you'll find a link to forward this information to someone who could benefit from APCF services. All of our programs and services are free of charge and we desperately want to make sure that all men and families searching for answers get the critical support they need.
As always, if you have any questions, suggestions, comments or anecdotes, please e-mail us at info@arprostatecancer.org or give us a call at 501-748-1249.
Best wishes, |

APCF LICENSE PLATE | | |
500 Signatures Needed for Approval
Rep. Fred Allen introduced legislation during the recent session that will allow the APCF to have a specially designed license plate to help raise awareness of prostate cancer in Arkansas! The bill passed, and the APCF needs your help. In order for the license plate to get final approval, a petition must be signed by 500 people in Arkansas. Once the APCF gets 500 signatures, you can go to your local DFA office to purchase your APCF license plate and help spread the word about the prostate cancer risk and the APCF as a resource.
All signatures must be original; the APCF cannot accept facsimiles, e-mails, PDFs, etc. If you would like an official petition, please e-mail the APCF office at info@arprostatecancer.org and put "APCF license plate petition" in the subject line. If you have any questions about what you can do to help, please call the APCF at 501-748-1249. |

BOYS & THEIR TOYS 2011 | | |
A Rockin' Bow Tie Affair, August 20, Argenta Community Theater, North Little Rock

This year's event will honor John M. A. DiPippa, Dean and Distinguished Professor of Law and Public Policy of the University of Arkansas at Little Rock William H. Bowen School of Law, for his service and passion toward prostate cancer issues in Arkansas.
Craig O'Neill will emcee the event, and fans will jam-out to the B Flats, a rockin' band of local doctors and professionals. So join us in cuttin' a rug--the kinda cause that will soothe your soul--reminiscin' about the days of old--with that good time rock 'n roll.
All event sponsors will receive a custom-made, APCF-inspired bow tie produced by The Bow Tie Cause, an organization founded by Dhani Jones, NFL football player and host of the Travel Channel's Dhani Jones Tackles the Globe. Bow ties will also be on sale at the event for $57.
You can download a sponsorship form here. If you have questions about the event, please contact Jessica Middleton-Kurylo at jkurylo@arprostatecancer.org. |
