"I awoke this morning with devout thanksgiving for my friends, the old and the new."
The first gathering among the pilgrims and the Winnebago Indians took place in 1621, It was an autumn harvest festival.
In 1789 President George Washington declared Thanksgiving a national holliday.
. . . it’s me, Cameron.
Last week Pop wrote about letting go and then told you there would be no letter for Thanksgiving. He did recommend writing a list of what you are thankful for.
Well, I am not letting go, so I’m writing to you. This is my third Thanksgiving so I know Pop will go around the table asking everyone what they are thankful for and what they accomplished this year. It’s a good idea. I know that our family members work all year to get ready with a good answer they are proud of.
So, might you go around your table asking each person what they are thankful for and what they accomplished this year? I promise the second year they will be ready with a better answer. Once they know they have to tell you what they accomplished, they work harder all year to have an accomplishment they are proud to share around the table.
Did you write a list of what you are thankful for? I DID. I’ll share mine below, if you send me yours.

PLUS . . .
I am thankful for someone I can’t wait to share with you. His name is Aiden. He’s my newest cousin! He's the son of Aunt Katy and Uncle John, and I can’t wait for him to get home so I can visit him. I hope he likes turkey too.
OK, now make your list. You can send it to me if you want,
but be sure to make it fun.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
