We just celebrated Columbus Day in the United States. Columbus was the explorer that found North America and what is now the United States. He set off in his ship to find the new world. Some thought the world was flat and he'd fall off. He followed his dream. Are you following your dreams?

Life is meant to be a daring adventure or learning and doing. If you are not, why not? Today is a new day and you can start today. Yes, you can.

We took 4 days to go to New Hampshire and Maine with family. Cameron made it all a daring adventure. The adults all had more fun just watching Cameron, his excitement and wonder at it all.

The Fryeburg Fair was a big hit, It is an 8 day huge event drawing 300,000 plus people. It is an adventure to see the farm people and the 4H children. It is a slice of life most of us are not aware of and it is wonderful to see it and get back to our roots. The 4H children work hard and take great pride in raising their animals. It's wonderful and inspiring to see. Take a moment and go to the website and visit— FRYEBURG FAIR.

Often clients tell me they do not have time. During our four day family adventure I found quiet moments to read. I was aware of the time and how much time was spent waiting when one could be reading or doing something. Me, I get up early and have quiet time. When others are getting ready to go out you also have time to do something if you are ready ahead of the others. There is always time for those who have something important to do.

Inspiring Quotations

" It's not what you look at that matters,
it’s what you see."

-Henry David Thoreau

"You don’t have to be great to get started,
but you have to get started to be great."

— Les Brown

"There is nothing in a caterpillar that tells you it's going to be a butterfly."

-Buckminster Fuller

"It's what you learn after you know it all that counts"

-Harry S Truman

"Time is limited, so I better wake up every morning fresh and know that I have just one chance to live this particular day right, and to string my days together into a life of action and purpose."

-Lance Armstrong

I had a GREAT vacation going to the Fryeburg Fair in Maine, a steam train ride in North Conway, New Hampshire, and a visit to a pumpkin farm with a tractor ride. Having my parents, grandparents, and aunt and uncle to share it with made it even more fun.

Being a student of the Poplar Express I held tight to my ticket the entire 1 hour ride. If you don't know why, I guess you have not seen the Polar Express. See it with a kid and you'll enjoy it.

We went on a small hike around a lake and that was also fun. I was able to throw rocks in the water and see a beaver dam. Kids are creative and can have fun anywhere at any time. We are not rushing to the next thing, we just enjoy where we are and what we have at the moment. I smile and they smile right back. It's easy and it's fun.

HOW CREATIVE ARE YOU?
As you have aged have your creative juices dried up?
How many new ideas have you had lately?
Have you acted on them? Have you encouraged them?
Have you ignored them?

Being creative, or allowing yourself to be creative adds a dimension of excitement and possibility to your life. It’s called being alive! Why not change things up? Do something different.

If you could not fail, what would you do? Then do it. Do it until you succeed at it. You’ll be proud, you’ll be motivated, and you’ll be at peace. It will spur you on to further action and success.

Don’t do the easiest thing. There is no challenge nor satisfaction in that. Do the hard or hardest thing. That’ll get you going, challenged, and rewarded when you see how far you can go.

Yes, you can do far more than you give yourself credit for what’s fun. We’ll if it’s fun do it. Kids have fun all the time. Why can’t adults? No one said you can’t have fun when you get older. Why, being a kid is a lot of fun. Being a kid is being creative.Kids are creative and inquisitive. Kids enjoy life and they fully engage in life. That is one of the many reasons we so admire kids and what they do. Why? Because we secretly wish we were as free, as inquisitive, and as creative as kids. Kids are uninhibited and they have no fear of judgement. Well, we should be just the same.

It is a known fact that at the end of life the biggest regret people have is things not done, chances not taken, and things not said.

Kids say what they feel. Kids do things all the time. Kids create their own fun where they are and with what they have. Kids are joyous free spirits. Kids, well, kids are the BEST.

When was the last time you were truly creative? If it was a long time ago, perhaps it’s time to do it again.

No one has the corner on creativity. No one can’t be creative if they allow themselves to be so.What are your old creative ideas? What have you wanted to do or to try that you have not dared? Why not do one of them? Why not try and try again until you do it?

Life is meant to be an adventure. Make your life a daring adventure full of fun, excitement, and challenges. Why, just be a kid. Be what you came into the world as. Be as you were designed to be.

I created my dream boat years ago from seeing many different boats. But, it was just a creative dream that I hadn’t acted on. Then one night while watching a movie with my daughter, there on the screen I saw the boat I had created in my mind. The next day I began my search to find one just like it. Being an older wooden boat with block and tackle (a sailing term) it is not a boat one would normally desire. But, it was my mind's creation and it was right for me. Others might say I was crazy to buy a wooden boat. Me, well, it was me and what mattered. And so today it's been 3 years of excitement and fun sailing and living my creative dream.

So, what have you created that you have yet to do? Are you worried about what others will say? If it’s right for you, then do it. Enjoy and celebrate your creativity.
