My son is doing fantastic! He is just like a different child. Everyone comments about it; the speech department at the public school, our family, friends, etc. He is playing t-ball and is an excellent player. I wondered if he would be too shy w/ all of the attention and stimulation, but he is not having trouble at all. The program was a lot of work and at times I thought I must be crazy for doing all of those things, but I wouldn't trade it for the world now. I am grateful to Jan and Little Giant Steps for teaching me how to help my child reach his potential.

Learn about the basics of the Neuro-Educational Approach....
Whether you have received a label, should receive a label, or are searching for a label for your child; whether the labels are due to learning concerns, genetic disorders, or brain injury sustained, I encourage you to understand labels. Labels are nothing more than symptomatic identifications of problems or concerns. Labels do nothing but limit a person, nothing but lower expectations. The potential of any individual is based upon the opportunities presented them. If appropriate, specific opportunities are presented, there will be a greater outcome. If opportunities are not offered, often due to the limitations set forth by the self-fulfilling prophecy of the label expectations, less will be achieved. Read more.....
Learning Disabilities and The Neuro-Educational Approach...
Someone you know or love has been labeled "learning disabled." What does this mean? What are you to do now? The first and most important thing you can do is try to find out and under-stand what exactly does this label mean. It absolutely does not mean that someone has a disease. It does not have anything to do with how intelligent a person is. And it does not mean you have to accept it and live your life learning how to 'cope' with this problem. You need to try and find out what exactly the underlying inefficiencies are and then start eliminating them.

Jan Bedell and the Staff of Little Giant Steps want to keep you informed about the good things that are happening through SOH. As our associate, Al Bias, would say, "This month is the month of my good friend's birthday, my good friend, Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord." The "Faithfulness of God" project, the website for recording your walk with God is to be functional very soon. If you've not read the book, "God I'm Busy," then you really need to get a copy. It will show you how, in the midst of your busy day, you can continue a dialogue with God, jot down a prompt about the insight, conversation, or life lesson you have experienced. Our Christian experience needs to be shared with our family, our friends, and passed down to future generations. If you don't create a record of your faith walk, then how will those who follow keep the faith? | |
