What is love?

Love is patient, love is kind and is not jealous; love does not brag and is not arrogant, does not act unbecomingly; it does not seek its own, is not provoked, does not take into account a wrong suffered, does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.  Love never fails; but if there are gifts of prophecy, they will be done away; if there are tongues, they will cease; if there is knowledge, it will be done away.  1st Corinthians 13:3-8

RIDDLE:
What did Adam and Eve promise after they were kicked out of the Garden of Eden?
                                             HEARTS & HANDS

H&H

In keeping with the theme of February, there are areas in the neuro-educational world that are touchingly frustrating to our hearts and despite the work of our hands, there is a  puzzling lack of function with bright children who just can't find consistent success in their daily educational experiences. Also, in keeping with Valentine's Day there is sweet success available. Trust me, for those who have been fortunate enough to receive an evaluation and neurodevelopmental program, there is reclamation of their lives in behavior and function.

If you would like to better understand the journey from being a child whose sensory issues create significant challenges to everyone's heart, or a child with developmental issues that seems like the the connections between the brain and body are saying this, " I'm telling you to do something!" and the body saying, "Did you just say something? Oh, I can't do that!" Link to more....

                                                    AUTISM & DIET

The controversy rages on about what could possibly cause autism; but the real cause(s)still eludes us.  However, that doesn't mean there are not good interventions that do improve the circumstances for many children, teens and adults.  Michelle Thompson, LGS Parent Support Director, is a mother of a son with PDD, an autism spectrum disorder. She has worked for most of David's life to help him reach his full potential which is now well beyond his original diagnosis.

David has surpassed all goals and today functions as a successful young man; he's now 25 years old. His mother, Michelle, recently witnessed him regressing to a place where he was experiencing fears and psychological discomfort that they thought were all a part of his past.  He even recently began suffering from migraine headaches.   His mother chose to attend and educational session by Dr. Shauna Young , chief medical director of the Assertive Wellness Research Center in Durango, Colorado. From there Michelle took what she had learned and applied that knowledge to the meals she turned out in her kitchen.  In fact, the whole family went on the Spectrum Balance Protocol Diet that Dr. Young had developed for autistic and autism spectrum individuals. Michelle, not being one to just sit still, even developed family friendly recipes that Dr. Young's team has embraced, because she truly followed the protocol, yet made it very useful and family friendly.

What happened to David in a few short weeks on this diet was remarkable! We, at LGS, would like to share this information with you if you are interested.  Michelle did a training session for the staff at LGS; we have taped her two presentations.    If interested, please email me at [email protected] and I will email them to you so you can listen in and learn!  The video that was mentioned will be posted to our You-Tube channel as soon as the editing is completed.  Stay tuned!
