Foundations in Psychic Development I: Boundaries and Flow
Each of us has a bubble of spiritual energy surrounding us called the aura. Learning how to be aware of, and how to transform our aura transforms our love and life experiences. While the exploration and healing of the aura is an incredible adventure that can fill a lifetime, the basic system can be learned the first day.
In Day One of the seminar, every exercise furthers the development of at least one of the two basic abilities: finding one's own psychic energy (one's own authentic impulses); and clearing blocks to further progress.
Students not only learn the theoretical constructs, they practice the actual skills. They learn how to ground and run energy, how to clear blocks, several ways to recognize and clear psychic enmeshment, and how to find, clear and repair the chakras.
Day Two introduces and explores deeply the layers of the aura. With the chakras (covered in Day One), the student activates and empowers his or her psychic abilities. With the layers we refine, clarify, and deepen those abilities. This leads naturally to learning to give professional quality psychic readings (our 3rd Level seminar), ever deeper self understanding, healing, skill in relationships, and authenticity. This class carries the student well on the way to developing the advanced skills of opening clairvoyance and reading auras. | |

 Gloria Hemsher Gloria was born in New Jersey and grew up Delray Beach, Fla. Psychic as a child and the daughter of a clairvoyant mother, she had many psychic experiences growing up. After moving to Gainesville, Fla., in the early 1970s, Gloria began structured studies in yoga and mediation, living for several years in an ashram. Over the next 10 years she worked as a professional photographer, managed a media production center and taught photography at the local community college.
After completing John Friedlander's psychic awareness courses and years of personal work with John, Gloria co-authored with John Basic Psychic Development: A User's Guide to Auras, Chakras and Clairvoyance, and began a new career as a teacher and coach. She is currently working on their second book, and is available for private readings and seminars. Gloria lives in Cincinnati with her husband and two children. |

Violeta Viviano

Violeta Viviano has been a student and practitioner of a variety of metaphysical systems for over 20 years. She has focused on the psychic development work of her teacher, John Friedlander, for over 15 years and is considered one of his most advanced students. She has amassed a wealth of life experiences traveling extensively throughout the United States, Europe and Australia. She has held a wide variety of positions throughout her career, having worked in the corporate world, in hospital settings, and in politics as an aide to a U.S. Senator. She currently owns her own business, a licensed home bakery.
She sees her true work in a life of human service and has concentrated her efforts for over 35 years in volunteerism in a variety of organizations, including Girl and Boy Scouts, school PTSOs and many others. She holds a BS in Biology and has done post-graduate work in education. She lives in Ann Arbor with her husband and two children. |
A Student's Perspective
In the two years I've been working with John, I've experienced true spiritual growth. I went from being a gifted, yet precocious and messy, toddler to being a clumsy, curious, and hopeful teenager.
I have learned, and really absorbed, the way to make my life my own. My success, happiness, and knowledge need not depend on others (even if I love them). So the trials that used to send me sobbing now make me laugh. I also am working on not resting on my laurels (in other words, trapping the fantastic energy I could be using in current time).This is both about seniority and about female grounding.
I now see that clairvoyantly plowing around in other people's hearts and minds is not really polite, even if you mean well. Why didn't I know this before? I smile now because I'm getting it, really getting it: just because you can do it doesn't mean you should. With training, I will be able to help heal and read people more skillfully, and with their permission.
Most importantly, I have learned that being psychic doesn't have much to do with bending spoons or predicting winning lottery numbers. It is so much more interesting that that, and the benefits so much more profound.

2007 Spring Intensive: The Details You've Been Waiting For!
Twice a year we have seminars in which we use various resources-- channeled energy, the group's energy, and dedicated time -- to leap forward in our spiritual practice. These intensives are designed and lead by guides John channels and they explore topics outside our core curriculum. Topics covered are chosen and developed in the dream state over a period of months specifically for the people who will attend. Already, we can feel the energy work going on in the dream state for this spring's intensive in Ann Arbor the evening of May 4th through May 6.
John never knows exactly what will be covered in an intensive, for there is lots of spontaneity. We expect to cover, extend, and enhance what we covered in last year's spring intensive; a subplane by subplane exploration of the seven planes, each with seven subplanes, as described in the Theosophical literature of the early 1900s. We are unaware of any other place where one can learn systematically how to find these specific energies. Their very specificity allows otherwise fuzzy and unstandardized concepts like soul and spirit to be encountered with accuracy and skill. Finding these energies adds powerful tools for healing and growth.
One way in which we may extend last year's exploration is to learn to see the various spiritual bodies as the early 20th century Theosophists did, a vision quite unlike any of the psychics today of whom we are aware. Beginning around the 1960s, it seems a more emotionally centered perception became the psychic norm, serving the necessary purpose of centering the spiritual practice of perception on the encounters of every day life. Revisiting now the perceptual style of the older Theosophists will add a depth and power to the more modern and emotionally authentic path that is the norm today.
While the topics covered in these intensives are fascinating and useful, often, advanced material will be introduced that is beyond most, if not all of our understanding. It is introduced both as a preparation for and as a foretaste of things to come. Most people will experience some material that they do not understand; but by basking in the channeled energy, unconscious changes are made that both open us to respond more resourcefully to events in the present and prepare us to understand advanced topics in the future. Much material will be covered that we understand and is immediately usable consciously, but all of the material is designed to move us forward, with or without intellectual understanding. Those people who become comfortable without necessarily understanding all the material benefit most. Those who come can expect quite a ride, with multiple benefits in many planes.
One new benefit that should greatly extend the power and usability of the seminar is that there will be a free follow-up class by conference call about a month later, and subsequent monthly classes for a small fee. |

Foundations in Psychic Development II:
Space, Seniority, Neutrality and Spiritual Fuel
In this two-day workshop, we will develop a deep understanding of how we use our own aura space to create our reality. We begin with psychic explorations that familiarize us with our space, and how we subdivide it through resistance to others. We can then learn to create our aura space through awareness rather than resistance. In the resulting neutrality, we become able to create our reality less and less through resistance to another, and more and more from our own spiritual fuel.

Foundations in Psychic Development III: Seeing Auras
In this two-day workshop we will explore the psychic anatomy of clairvoyance, or seeing auras; how to activate and empower this perception; and several ways to use this ability in making decisions, in healing oneself and others, and in deepening one's understanding of oneself and others. We will then move to actually doing comprehensive, systematic psychic readings in partnership with fellow students. Participants usually find they can easily increase their ability to perceive genuinely useful aura energies in just this one weekend, and that they are well started on the adventure of a lifetime.

Foundations in Psychic Development IV: Channeling
Learn the clairvoyant mechanics of skillful channeling -- how to prepare your space for channeling by running an ever clearer white light vibration while still owning and governing who and what occupies your space. This requires clearing psychic agreements, karma, and thought forms that distort both ordinary awareness and channeling.
