IT'S Connected logom of more than 70 ITS staff and student employees, and TEK  Systems temps spread out across campus to welcome and support incoming students and their families during Syracuse Welcome. It was smooth sailing for all, with requests for help down 35% from 2011. Read more.
Videogrpaher ITS has contracted for media content delivery over the Internet. This enables SU to quickly share video content produced on campus with news services and other organizations anywhere in the world, at less cost than that of the previous satellite uplink system. Read more. 

Remote Lab directory iSchool students now can use lab computers without ever entering the iSchool building. Since iSchool IT Services created Remote Lab, all students need is a laptop computer and an Internet connection. Read more.

 

Introducing Summon, a new kind of library search engine

Summon banner On August 2, Syracuse University Library unveiled a revolutionary new library search engine called Summon. Summon provides a familiar, Google-like searching experience that simplifies the process of finding information in the Library. Read more.

SU on Google Maps
Google's database has accumulated several street addresses associated with Syracuse University. Google uses these street addresses to not only locate SU on maps, but to label the data points. Steps have been taken to make sure the right address is used. Read more. 

 

Enter Passcode
ITS began implementation of SU's new Mobile Device Security Standard on September 4 with a pilot group consisting of all ITS employees. The experience gained with the pilot will be used to debug and fine tune the standard before it is implemented for all SU employees. Read more.

Wnat Next? Chalkboard A majority of technology stakeholders polled in a Web-based survey anticipate that higher education in 2020 will be quite different from the way it is today. Digitally Savvy Students Play Hide-and-Seek With Campus Messages While e-mail remains the official method of communication on most campuses, colleges are expanding their presence in the virtual world, trying to reach students where they hang out.
