This Week @ MissionWay

Waste Management

There is no worse feeling than coming to the end of something and discovering that what you were counting on, depending on, or looking forward to couldn't-or wouldn't-deliver what you hoped for. You've spent money, time and energy that you can't get back. Sometimes it's no big deal; a few dollars here, a couple of hours there. But, what do you do when you realize that you're wasting your life? Join us Sunday as we hear from Mark Albert how to manage the time, resources and gifts God gives us.

Did you miss the service? Listen to Pastor Ron's message from Sunday, "Hearing the Call," from our last series, "Survival: Man vs. World."  The Sunday messages are available in audio each week through MWay podcasts. Click here to hear or download this and other services made available in audio through MWay podcasts.
Pray for Our Costa Rica Team
On Sunday a group of eight from MissionWay traveled to Costa Rica for fellowship, fun (in the waves!), and a time to connect with Pastor Jorge and his church with which we partner. The group will return on Monday, May 25. Pray for them as they travel, have daily time in Bible study together, and encourage Pastor Jorge and his church.
New Series: One Prayer
One PrayerWho is God to you? Join us for One Prayer 2009 a global movement where we're living out what we're learning about our never-ending God. This June, the Church will stand together to share, serve, and give. Join us at MissionWay for this series June 7-28.
Kidz Bible Camp
Last summer we had more than 120 kids involved in our Bible Camps. We are planning for another great summer with our Camps as we take a Truth Trek together! During our Kidz Bible Camps, we will uncover the treasures of God's truth. We'll dig into God's Word, learn to obey the Ten Commandments, and come to understand that Jesus is the power by which we live!

These week-long camps are an excellent opportunity for outreach in our community. We hope your family and friends will join us in learning Bible stories, playing games, creating arts and crafts, singing songs and meeting new friends! The camps will take place at the following locations:

Johns Creek - in the home of Robert and Jean Turner, July 27-31
St. Johns Golf & Country Club - in the home of Bill and Melissa Woody, August 3-7
Palencia - in the home of Steve and Pam Champney, August 10-14
The Oaks Apartments - dates coming soon!

Our next team meeting will be Thursday, May 28, at 4:30 p.m. at the MWay Office. If you are interested in volunteering at a camp or even hosting a camp in your home or neighborhood, contact Jamie.

Habitat Mission Trip
Habitat photo of aftermathAre you interested in helping to rebuild homes for families who suffered the devastation of Hurricane Katrina? We have a great opportunity to reach out to the folks on the Gulf Coast who are still suffering from the effects of Hurricane Katrina.  We are taking a team to the Bay-Waveland area of Mississippi to build homes with Habitat for Humanity this October. If you are interested in learning more about going, contact Jamie.
Find Your Place to Serve
Sunday Morning Opportunities
Have you found a place to serve on Sunday mornings? If you haven't found a place to use your gifts and talents, check out these opportunities to serve on a Sunday morning team:

First Impressions - Greeting and welcoming guests and members
Next Steps - Helping guests and members assimilate
Parking - Being the first faces people see as they arrive at MissionWay
MWay Kidz and G-Force (preschool up to 5th grade) - Working with our youngest members
MWay Hideaway - Taking care of MWay kids whose parents are serving on various teams before and after the services
Setup/teardown - Coming early to prepare and then staying a little later to clean up after the services

We need volunteers during both services, 9 and 10:30 a.m., on Sunday mornings. For more information about serving on a Sunday morning team, contact Matt.
