Facing the challenges of life can be difficult and at times seem overwhelming. If we are not careful, these challenges can destroy commitment, diminish hope and leave us struggling for contentment. How do we survive in such an uncertain and difficult world? Man vs. World will explore the basic survival techniques needed to live in the midst of challenge and difficulty.

: 2009 Spring Round-Up Community Event. This fun, family-oriented, community event is a great team-building opportunity which also promotes the mission of Seamark Ranch in our community. Volunteers are needed for all areas, including venue setup & takedown, parking & transportation, welcome center, ranch exhibitions, children's games & activities, refreshments & lunch, etc.

We are asking volunteers to sign up TODAY, so we may submit the list to Seamark Ranch. To sign up or for more information, contact Jamie.
Sunday Morning Voluteer Schedule
Volunteer graphicLast week was our first week of offering two services (9am and 10:30am). It was a great time to worship passionately together!
 
Thanks for coming to be a part of this big change. We are excited to have nearly 100 people now serving on Sunday mornings.
 
If you are a part of one of our Sunday morning teams, don't forget the new volunteer schedule and make note of whether you serve on Team A or Team B (ask your team leader if you aren't sure). This Sunday, April 19, will be Team B's day to serve.
 
7:15am - Hideaway, Encounter, Environments, VHQ volunteers arrive and begin preparations
8:15am - Connections, KIDZ volunteers arrive and begin preparations
9:00am - Encounter #1
10:15am - Connections, KIDZ, Hideaway volunteers re-group and prepare for next encounter
10:30am - Encounter #2
11:30am - Environments volunteers begin tear down
12:00pm - Hideaway closes
 
There's new lingo @ MWay these days to describe many of the changes wer're making. Here are a few you may have heard:
 
Hideaway: a fun place for children to go while their parents volunteer
Encounters: the Sunday morning worship services
Environments: the teams that get everything in place so Encounters can happen
VHQ (Volunteer Headquarters): where volunteers get snacks, drinks
Connections: groups working in the patio area to assist members and guests/visitors; volunteers are organized into Next Steps, Ushers, Greeters, Parking and Offering teams
KIDZ: our children's programs, including Tyke's Peak and G-Force
2009 Ethiopia Team
Ethiopia generalWe are excited to announce our September 2009 Ethiopia Team that will be going on a volunteer trip to Addis Ababa in September: Shannon Palmer, Jenna Erickson, Jonnelle Davis, Devon Scheible, Jill O'Brien, Sarah Morris, and Matt and Jamie Wilbanks. The group will serve at Destiny Academy, an elementary school that MissionWay is already partnering with so that more children can receive an education and hear about God's love. The team also will participate in a gospel distribution project that corresponds with the Ethiopian New Year. Please join us in praying for the team as they begin preparing for the trip. Sunday, April 26 is the 4th Sunday of April, so you still have time to purchase the items you signed-up to bring. On 4th Sunday, drop your items at Next Steps and we will deliver them to Family Promise, L'Arhe Harbor House and Seamark Ranch. 
 
If you have not signed-up to bring something but would like to help, please bring in one or more of the following: toilet paper, paper towels, dishwashing detergent, laundry detergent. Contact
