Each Sunday of the series, you will experience firsthand some exciting changes at MissionWay....... transformations of our worship experience, "Kidz" environments, and connecting points for guests. | Survey Says... |
MWay is conducting a brief, online survey to help us prepare for Easter Sunday and our transition to two services each Sunday. You should have received the survey through email yesterday. If you did not receive one, please call us @ 819-5300 or email. We'll update your contact information and get a survey to you.

| Using Your Oikos |
On Sunday, Pastor Ron challenged each of us to talk to people in our oikos--our networks--about Jesus Christ and to invite them to join us at MissionWay. It can be as casual as a conversation about getting plugged in to a community. We hope you took invite cards on Sunday. Carry them with you and don't be afraid to share them! It's a low key way to invite people to what's going to be an awesome Easter Sunday. More cards will be available this Sunday on the patio (see the Next Steps table) and following the service. |
| MWay Hideaway Opens this Sunday, March 29 |
|
Looking for an opportunity to serve? You're in luck! Starting this Sunday, MWay will begin offering MWay Hideaway. Keep reading to learn what this is and how you can serve in this ministry!
Who: We're looking for folks who want to HAVE FUN with the kids of our Sunday morning volunteers.
What: MWay Hideaway is a place where the kids of Sunday morning volunteers can go before the first service and during the 2nd service while their parents are volunteering.
Where: The Hideaway will be in a special room designed to let kidz hang out and have fun. Kidz can watch videos, play games, eat snacks and just hang out--all under the supervision of our dedicated Hideaway staff.
When: This Sunday the Hideaway will open at 8:15am. Beginning next week on Easter Sunday, April 12, the Hideaway will be open from 7:15am to 9:00am (for children whose parents are volunteering before and/or during the first service), followed by the regular Children's Ministry classes from 9:00am to 10:00am. The Hideaway will open again at 10:00am for children whose parents are volunteering during the second service.
Why: Working in the Hideaway will give you a chance to plug in and allow parents a chance to serve Sunday mornings.
For more information about volunteering in the MWay Hideaway, contact Jean Turner. |

| Easter Sunday, April 12 |
New! Two Sunday Services, 9 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. It's hard to escape how broken things are right now: people, relationships, the economy, the environment. Our relationship with God is damaged, too. Easter--when Jesus died and rose from the dead--was God's first step in restoring everything. God wants to put things back together, and He wants our help to do it. We have hope because things that are wrong can be made right, things that are broken can be made whole, things that are dead can be made alive. Invite your family and friends to learn how we are made "ALIVE" in Christ. And come out to be a part of some exciting changes at MWay. |

| Volunteering for MWay KIDZ |
Serving with enthusiasm is what makes Jennifer (Jen) Sims a model volunteer. Jen serves in MWay Kidz on Sunday mornings. More specifically, she teaches the Explorers classs (3- and 4-year-olds) and brings excitement to her Sunday morning students. "I really want to be a teacher, so it gives me an opportunity to work with the kids," Jen said. "It's so exciting to see them learning." And it's definitely rewarding to know they are learning Bible stories and scriptures. "I was so happy when I overheard one of the kids repeat a memory verse and say he learned it from Ms. Jenn and 'the man'." 'The man' is a character named Little "k" from the video curriculum they use in the classroom. Jen and her husband Mike have been attending MissionWay for a while, but they became more involved last summer when they began attending a Community Group. "That was the first step for us in feeling more involved and connected." It was after she and Mike met a few new friends in their Community Group that she joined Julie Henderson and Ashley Jensen when they were working in MWay Kidz one Sunday. Then when Jean Turner, who heads up MWay Kidz, asked Jenn to become a permanent volunteer, she knew it was the next step. "I know it's sometimes scary for people to take that next step and commit to volunteering, but I'm really glad I did." Jen also enjoys getting to know the other volunteers who work in MWay Kidz, as well as those who bring their kids to her class. When MissionWay begins having two services on Easter Sunday, Jen says she is excited about the opportunity to serve more frequently. Mike and Jen have been married for two-and-a-half years. She is a project manager for Blue Cross Blue Shield and considers her two tiny chihuahuas her own little "babies." In addition to spending time with family and friends, Jen admits that she is very passionate about being involved at MissionWay. "I live for Sunday mornings and for our evening small group times." Let's hope that her passion is contagious. | |
