Excess Baggage: Releasing Your Worry
One piece of baggage we all seem to carry around at one time or another is worry. We worry about our health, our money, our relationships, our marriage, our work, the future, or difficult choices we need to make. Worry can hurt us. It keeps us from connecting with others, from taking risks, from trusting God, and from living in the moment. Join us Sunday as we conclude the series Excess Baggage by discovering how our worry can be replaced with the peace of God. That is cure enough for any worry. |

| Nease Volunteers Needed |
 We are thankful for our friends at Nease and all they do to allow us to worship there on Sundays. We need your help in giving back. We need several volunteers who are willing to help proctor the upcoming FCAT exams at Nease on March 10, 11 or 12. Volunteering requires 1 to 3 hours of your time to assure that all goes well during this critical testing period. Contact Paula Gaskin, Nease volunteer coordinator, @ 285.8772 to sign up. |
| 4th Sunday Donations |
Thank you to everyone who brought items for the 4th Sunday Donations. If you forgot, don't worry! You can still bring them to the patio this Sunday. These items will help three local organizations: L'Arche (http://www.larchejacksonville.org), Seamark Ranch (http://seamarkranch.com), and Family Promise (http://www.familypromisejax.org). As we follow Jesus' command to love others as we love ourselves, we are hoping to shift our focus to the needs of others by donating these basic items.
Don't forget that we are giving these items every 4th Sunday. Shannon Stokes will be available on the patio before and after the service on the 4th Sunday of each month to collect all of the items. If you are interested in helping to make deliveries to these organizations, email Shannon (ylshannonstokes@yahoo.com). |
| Serve at Seamark |
 We have two opportunities for you to serve at Seamark Ranch ( http://seamarkranch.com) during the next three weeks. The first takes place this Sunday, March 1. MissionWay folks have volunteered to provide a meal for the Sprout Family and the 7 girls living with them. With a new baby arriving just weeks ago, the entire house will enjoy a meal they don't have to prepare themselves! There are still opportunities to serve by providing food or delivering the meal to Seamark Ranch on Sunday.
The second opportunity to serve will be on Saturday, March 14. MissionWay is sponsoring a "fun day" for the kids at Seamark. Events will include a cookout, games, and sports. We still need volunteers to help with each of these activities.

| Ethiopia Team Meeting |
 Plans are well underway for the September 2009 Ethiopia mission trip. We are going to Ethiopia, Sept. 4-13. Led by Shannon Palmer and Matt/Jamie Wilbanks, we will serve at Destiny Academy and participate in a gospel distribution project that corresponds with the Ethiopian New Year.  In December, we hosted The Christmas Store for our neighbors at The Oaks Apartments. Through the store we served 60 families, distributed 370 toys and 100 parent gifts, and donated seven Christmas trees. We also donated the extra toys to the Ronald McDonald House. The Ronald McDonald House staff members were very thankful, as they have 35 families staying there through the holidays.
