| This Week at MissionWay... |
We are all faced with different kinds of temptations. Fortunately, we can rest assured that God does not leave us to face life's temptations alone. When we present our temptations to God, He walks with us and uses the experience to draw us closer to Him. He also helps us by giving us people in our lives who are like-minded in their pursuit of righteousness through Christ. Join us Sunday as Tye Welsh helps us learn to stand victoriously under life's temptations. New Arrival...
Symth holding his new sister, Addison "Addie" Chase Gover. Addie was born January 28 at 4:49 pm weighing 6 lbs 13 oz and 20 in long. Everyone
is doing great! Congratulations Gover family! |

of us carry around excess baggage. It might be in the form of
emotional baggage, a defeating habit, an addiction, or some hurt form
our past. This series will encourage you to check your excess baggage.
To give it to God, who is ready and willing to claim it.

Momentum Series: Momentum in My Church, Community and World
|
|
"The eyes of the Lord search the whole earth in order to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him." 2 Chronicles 16:9
Last Sunday we heard Pastor Ron teach about the implications of gaining momentum not only in our church, but also in our community and even in the world. We learned that God is at work in the world and that He invites us to join Him in that work. We were inspired to look beyond ourselves and recognize the people around us that God has called us to reach out to and love. We hope that you will take some time out this week to consider what God is saying to you about making commitments to build momentum in your church, your community and the world. MY NEXT STEPS... -Sign up to serve @ MissionWay. -Pray for God to show me His purpose in my life. -Engage in missions locally and globally. |

| Handling Financial Burdens |
Handling our personal financial struggles causes a great deal of stress in our lives. We don't always realize that the Bible is full of guidance about money, debt, and personal finance. If you are dealing with financial burdens in your life, now is the time to take advantage of a Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace University workshop. Learn biblically based accountability curriculum on how to manage God's money and resources in a godly way. This workshop will empower you to make financial decisions that achieve your financial goals, teaching you to eliminate debt, build wealth, and give generously. This 13-week workshop will begin Sunday, Feb. 15, 3:30-5:30 p.m., at the MissionWay Office. Matt Kramer and Pastor Ron will be the facilitators. The cost for the book is $98*. This is a small amount to pay when "on average, families reduce their debt by $5,300 and save $2,700 in just 91 days." Sign up to participate by contacting Matt Kramer (matt.w.kramer@gmail.com). *Financial resources are available if you are interested in participating but need assistance in purchasing the book. Please let us know by contacting Matt Kramer. |
| 2009 Ethiopia Mission Trip |
What has God been saying to you about praying, giving, going or sending? We are planning a trip to serve in Ethiopia this year and hope you will consider how you can be a part of reaching the nations with Christ's love. This will be a September trip led by Shannon Palmer and Matt/Jamie Wilbanks. We will serve at Destiny Academy and participate in a gospel distribution project that corresponds with the Ethiopian New Year. Contact Matt Wilbanks ( mattwilbanks@missionwaychurch.org) to learn more about serving in Ethiopia. |
| Servants in the Crucible |
| This March, Southside Baptist Church will be presenting a workshop entitled, "Persecuted Church." This three-day workshop enables local churches to embrace suffering as normal and partner with the God of heaven where He works and how He works. Learn how He is moving in the midst of persecution, suffering, and martyrdom. The workshop will be held March 5-7, from 8:30am-5:00pm at Southside Baptist Church (1435 Atlantic Blvd). The cost is $50 per participant (includes continental breakfast, lunch, and two breaks). For more information, contact Jamie Wilbanks (jamiewilbanks@missionwaychurh.org). |
| A Heartfelt Thank You |
We received a kind thank-you note from the Ronald McDonald House for the donation of items left from our Christmas Store in December. Your generosity and commitment to serving our greater community touched many lives this season. Dear Friends at MissionWay Church: Thank you for remembering our families, especially during the hectic holiday season. Your generous donation of games, basketballs, and gift cards was wonderful. The toys were perfect for the Holiday Shop that is set-up for the families staying here through the holidays. Gift cards are a great help to the families and are also used to purchase necessities for the house. It is always difficult when you have a sick child, and the holidays away from home can be especially hard. Your support made the families' stay easier and their days a little brighter. On behalf of all the families who were here during the holiday season, I thank you for your thoughtfulness. Sincerely, Maura Black
