You can help by coming out to carol at the hospital and participating of the worship service. Caroling begins at 5:30 p.m. and the service begins at 6 p.m.
We also ask that you bring a plate of goodies to share with the hospital staff who are working on Christmas Eve. Come and bring your family and friends to this special opportunity to serve and worship. Baptist South is located at I95 and Old St. Augustine Rd.

Merry Christmas!
From the staff at MissionWay, we wish you and your family a wonderful Christmas as you celebrate Christ's birth! The angel said to them, "Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord. This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger." Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying, "Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men on whom his favor rests." Luke 2:9-14

Strider Stokes to Speak Sunday
Strider Stokes will speak at MissionWay this Sunday, December 28. This fall we welcomed Strider, Shannon and Asher Stokes to the
MissionWay family. Strider is the volunteer coordinator for
MissionWay's Student Ministry and Shannon serves in our
Preschool Ministry. Strider is the area director for the northern St.
Johns Young Life program through which caring adults invest time with
young people to build friendships and help them consider the direction
of their lives. |
Focus on Giving: Missions Offering Update
Last Sunday we took up our Missions Offering as a part of the Advent Conspiracy. This season we are spending less on ourselves and giving more to help others--globally and locally. We have collected $3,829 toward our missions offering thus far. Mission Offering Goal: $6,000 · Young Life: Helping local Nease students attend camp next summer · Haiti: Helping to rebuild wells damaged during the hurricanes earlier this year
· Ethiopia: Supporting Destiny Academy, the Education Resource Center, and families serving in Addis End of the Year Giving
We have almost reached the end of 2008. If you still need to give your final offerings for this year, there are several ways to give. You can give during the service on December 28, which will be our last offering of the year. You may also give online through December 31, or mail your offering directly to MissionWay at PO

The Christmas Store is a Success
Thank you for your service
Thank you for giving to our community by participating in "The
Christmas Store." The store, which took place last Saturday and Sunday
at our church office, allowed families from The Oaks Apartments to
purchase Christmas gifts for a fraction of the item's original price.
Through
the store we served 60 families, distributed 370 toys and 100 parent
gifts, and donated seven Christmas trees. We also donated the extra
toys to the Ronald McDonald House. The staff at the Ronald McDonald
House were very thankful, as they have 35 families staying there
through the holidays.
We are grateful to all of our dedicated
volunteers who helped to make the store a success! We had about 70
volunteers who served throughout the weekend. Thank you for your
service! We appreciate the time and effort our volunteers have put in
to organize, plan and pull off an event of this magnitude. We would
like to give a special thank you to Melissa Kramer, Melissa Woody and
Abbey Zachar, who led the store. They each contributed countless
hours, and we appreciate their passion and enthusiasm for serving
others and rallying our folks together to serve our community.
