This Week @ MissionWay
Real Treasure Real Faith: Treasure Keeping
Matthew 6:19-24
If you were forced to leave your home and could only take one thing with you, what would it be? What is it that you treasure? What or who is most important to you? In Matthew 6:19-24, Jesus calls His disciples to complete and total allegiance. We are to treasure Him above everything else. Join us Sunday as we continue the series Real Treasure, Real faith by looking at how treasuring Jesus begins in our heart.
Final Message in the Series: November 23 Expressing Generosity - Matthew 6:1-4 |
Serving at MissionWay Where can you plug in?
Are you ready to get involved? Meet people and connect with them through meaningful work? We are here to match your interests and talents with needs at MissionWay. This month, we are highlighting some of our teams and the type of work they do. This week: Set-Up/Tear-Down and Host Team.
The Set-Up/Tear-Down Team is critical to what we do each week at MissionWay. Without their work, our Sunday worship experience would not be possible!
The team meets two times each week: 4pm on Fridays for set-up and on Sundays before and after the service for final set-up and tear-down. During these times, we organize rooms for the Children's Ministry, get the stage and seating ready in the auditorium and set-up stations on the patios. Currently, we have four teams and work on a monthly rotation so that each team is responsible for one Sunday each month. We can use any willing hands. This is fun spirited teamwork and a great opportunity to get to know others at MissionWay while providing an invaluable service to everyone.
The Host Team creates a welcoming place for members and guests. We want people who come to MissionWay to feel comfortable, relaxed and at ease. We do this with friendly conversation, lots of smiles, good handshakes and sometimes a hug!
We work before and after the Sunday service doing a number of things. We have greeters at the parking lot to say hello and point everyone in the right direction. The WelcomeCenter is where we greet first-time visitors, provide them with basic information and name tags (if they want one!). We also staff the Guest Services table on the patio where we offer detailed information about MissionWay, our ongoing events, literature, etc. Finally, we hand out worship programs and greet people as they enter the auditorium.
If you think you'd be interested in any of these activities, please contact Karen Sistare at sistarek@aol.com. | |
MissionWay's 2009 Financial Plan MissionWay's vision team and staff have been hard at work developing MissionWay's 2009 ministry priorities and financial plan. We are setting aside time on Sunday, November 23 to allow MissionWay to understand the plan, to ask questions, to provide feedback and to commit to this work. Beginning at 9am we will have an informational meeting where you can meet some of our vision team members and get more information about the 2009 ministry priorities and financial plan. Then in our worship service, everyone will be given the opportunity to make personal commitments to support the work that God has called us to do. |

Our next Parent & Child Dedication Service will be Sunday, November 23. This is a chance for parents to publicly declare their intention to raise their child to know God and develop a relationship with Him. It is also a time for us to declare our support for them in this important task. If you would like to dedicate your child or have questions, call Pastor Ron at 612.8087. |
