MissionWay E-News Understanding the Unexplainable
Week 1 - October 12, 2008
Unexplainable Week 1 This Week @ MissionWay
C.S. Lewis defined a miracle as the supernatural interfering with the natural. During His brief three-year ministry, Jesus performed 47 miracles that fit this definition. The writers of the New Testament made no attempt to explain how Jesus did these supernatural events, but they were very careful to make sure we could understand why He did them. This Sunday we begin a new four-part series entitled Understanding the Unexplainable. We will start by looking at the very first miracle Jesus preformed, changing ordinary water into wine. Join us for an exciting time of worship and study!
Student Ministry Meeting
This Sunday, Strider Stokes along with Dave and Shannon Palmer will be holding an informational meeting concerning the Student Ministry at MissionWay. The purpose of the meeting is to establish a solid group of parents and leaders who will support the ministry.  There is much to be done before we can start our work with students! The meeting will take place at the MissionWay offices from 11:45-12:45. Lunch and childcare will be provided.

Fall Festival This Month
We Need Your Help!
Last year we hosted a very successful Fall Festival at The Oaks Apartments located across from our offices. This year, we want to carry on that tradition by hosting our 2nd Fall Festival on Oct. 25th from 3-5pm. Our friends at The Oaks are very excited about the festivities.  We need your help to put on this event! We need volunteers who are willing to host a booth or game and bring candy or decorations. Bring your candy and decorations to the Guest Services table either Sunday, Oct. 12 or Oct. 19. This is a great opportunity for our Community Groups to get involved in this local ministry and help us build relationships in our community. For more information about how you can be involved, contact Matt Wilbanks at mattwilbanks@missionwaychurch.org.
